The British Hardman actor is definitely a Jason Statham parody.. I think America's newest sweetheart could be Miley Cyrus rip off.

I am 100 percent sure this game will be set in Vice City... Why?

 

-I cant recall the name, but the character talking to Niko at the begining of the game you encounter on the streets selling purses... In the first cutscene with your first encounter he mentions "I went to Florida and considered staying, but decided to go to Liberty City and make a go of it." Possibly the antagonist? Great find in my opinion.

 

- When Little Jacob accompanies you to hang out, in one set of the entertaining dioulague Jacobasks "Where ya from rasta? Russia or Eastern Europe Star?" (Or something like that I just can't recall it). But Niko replies "No, Florida!" In a joking fashion... Interesting.

 

More flags that our next game will take place in Florida? I think so.

 

In my opinion, the game will be running on the same engine as IV but slightly updated, and will have Miami and surrounding areas (Ft Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, etc), along with Orlando and Tampa. The map will be the size of GTA:SA or bigger. Thoughts?

There's a ton more things referring to San Andreas. Two little things don't confirm Vice.

There were quite a few hints pointing towards VC in IV, and TBoGT especially. Still, this looks a lot like something you'd see in a LS based game.

Well we have some FBI agents, two feuding female neighbours some gangsters and a sh*t load of off the wall weed smokers. I would say the majority are part of random character missions except for the agents and the gangsters.

I think it's pretty safe to say there is in-fact a GTA in development (I think we all kind of figured that already but..), we just don't know whether or not it will be a major console release or a NGP release, I guess.

I presume we'll find out very soon what all this is about, maybe all these "leaks" are some sort of diversion? Who knows..

I don't mean to detract from the investigation into the actors etc. but has anybody examined the character discriptions?? Most of them sound like suburbanites.. Soccer mom's, swinging neighbours, fps playing teens. It doesn't sound very ghetto to me.. there is no way Rockstar would set a GTA in the suburbs. It sounds to me more like a casting call for the next season of desperate housewives.

 

It might be a Rockstar games production but it just doesn't sound like a gta game.. except for the chinese mob boss and the Celebrity's assistant.

A game based on LA could well take on the city's stereotypical "la la land" atmosphere - lots of fake personalities, desperate for some kind of validation.

 

I've been on forums many times and seen people talking about some horrendous incident, like a school shooting, and teenagers and young adults start running their mouths about what they would have done - fully believing that all that COD practice makes them weapons experts who would make the easy transition to John McClane characters if the sh*t hit the fan. Or maybe a character like Anthony Jr in The Sopranos: doughy, cossetted and soft, but eventually he can't resist trying to be one of the gangsters. Maybe he's going to be a character R* can use to make fun of armchair soldiers.

 

Mrs Bell and the other soccer mom - again thinking of The Sopranos - could be like Carmela Soprano: dutiful, soft-voiced soccer mom but with enough wealth and connections to start throwing her weight around. Maybe the kind of person who is so fiercely protective of her kids, so ambitious, that she might use a hitman to threaten a school principal or an ex-lover. Maybe someone who doesn't mind getting her own hands dirty. Maybe someone with the perfect picket-fence disguise to be the baddest boss in the game, someone the police would not suspect. And remember how Martha Stewart got burned...

 

Pretty much any business which handles a lot of money, from restaurants to fitness centres to TV companies have something in which organised crime would be interested. In IV, Italian mobsters took a backseat - maybe in V, all the gangs become secondary to the more public secret crooks. If so, we coud be in for the most interesting GTA narrative yet.

Personally, I think RS wouldnt make a brand new city with all this voice talent and details, etc etc just for a handheld release.

 

Usually, they have taken the cities/locations they have, and dialed them back to fit on PSP or whatever. The exception is CTW but, that seems to have been a fairly easy game to develop, and there wasnt any voice acting.

 

unless were getting NGP sa stories, I'm guessing full on console release.

They can't use him. They named him Hossam Ramzy, after a very famous Egyptian musician (often sampled by Missy and Timbaland). I don't think they'd want to make a major negative character out of him - too much legal hot water.

I think I remember reading something last fall sometime about Rockstar Games employees being spotted taking pictures around Hollywood; so that could tie in with the theory of the next GTA being in L.A. Then again, depending on how old that article was, they could have been taking pictures for L.A. Noire.

 

Either way, I would be thrilled to see GTA return to Los Angeles (Los Santos) again, and really just focus exclusively on that city rather than the rest of San Andreas.

I hope we all remember this. That was about a year and a half ago. And when Dan said that he pretty much confirmed GTA V right there on the spot. And now that we(I'm 99.9999% sure that Rush is Code name for GTA V) have a partial list of Characters for GTA V we can say that GTA V was already in the planning stages when Dan did that interview. With the casting call being sent out sometime in early-mid 2010.

 

I really expect that GTA V will come out by the end of the year as if you take the total time it took for R* to create LC in the completely new engine it was only about a year. 6 months of planning and 6 months of hardcore 3d modeling. If you take in the consideration that R* are much more friendly with RAGE then development on GTA V shouldn't take muhc longer then SA, which IIRC was only 2 years. And on another note when R* announced GTA games in the past they would always release the same year as the announcement, with the only exception being GTA IV, but that was because it was a new generation with new consoles and a new engine. But given the fact that R* have put out 2 games and 2 expansions in the last two years, with each being more advanced then the last. And now there's LA Noire, which is miles ahead of Red Dead. Which was miles ahead of GTA IV. So I whole heartedly believe GTA V will be out by the end of 2011(if not then early 2012) and it will be light years ahead of GTA IV and miles ahead of LA Noire. If not then Miles ahead of Red Dead.

 

My thoughts on all this, for the time being.

People constantly report "Rockstar employees " taking photos and whatever. If every story hold up, then the next game would properly be GTA: World.
