Characters that didn't have to crack jokes all the time etc. People complain about IV being too serious, but they don't realize that that game was filled with comedy everywhere; on the radio, the tv, clubs, in the streets, billboards. Just about everywhere you could go really. It would be awesome to see just how immersive a GTA game could be, and in my opinion too much comedy stands in the way of that.

I believe Darrel was responding to a rumour about GTA V being more grittier, that was posted earlier in this thread. So it's not entirely OT.

If Gilbert Gottfried will be really the leading voice, then we will see a Japanese protagonist(nothing against the Japanese) ......... but I don't think it's true, because Michael Hollick found out, that he's the leading role at the end of development and as far as I know, he's not allowed to say sh*t about the next GTA, because of an agreement he signed ...... so I think it's fake ....... but if he will have a role in the next GTA, he will be a side role like a random character.

Do you want to make GTA a mafia 2 clone except without automatic waypoints? I'm tired of taking myself seriously, and I especially don't want to in a damn game. Mafia 2 was serious. GTA is not supposed to be. Although they do need better humor than stephen colbert rip offs and penis jokes. Seriously, those were 90 percent of the jokes, the others being about internet. And none were very funny.

I think you mis-understood what he was saying. What i think he meant was that there was alot of comedy, but virtually no danger. In San Andreas if yo wander into an Enemy Gangs territory you have to be carefull, at any moment you could get attacked, ye there was no danger in GTA IV no matter where you were. Yes you could get attacked, but it was very rare. The comedy to danger Ratio was to far on the comedy side, it just needed a bit more danger.

Where did I say they should get rid of the comedy? Of course GTA needs comedy, but every little corner of the game doesn't have to have some satiric joke about modern society attached to it. I'd much rather they have less but better jokes, and then leave some space for darker and more serious material that could really help immerse the player not only amuse.

I think the first trailer will be out in febuary 2012. The've got the engine ready dont think the game will take more than 4 years since the release of GTAIV.
