Happen to going is something feeling a have I because. E3 for excited else anyone?

GTA announcement at E3?

Have any of the GTA's been announced at E3? Or any other game convention for that matter? GTA III might have been but its not really R* style, they like to announce it on their website and throughout the internet.

They announced GTA IV at E3 '06

They announced GTA Chinatown Wars at E3 '08

you know, I have to rant about something here. If R* is trying to make us play some sort of ARG(alternate reality game) then they really need to pick up the pace a little bit and give us a bone to chew on. Look at the hitman forums for example, the end of the first ARG act gave them a screenshot, something to let them know that a new hitman game is coming and coming soon. Then we have the logo changing fiasco and what came out of it? nothing! just made us all look like fools believing something will happen soon. True, there were some sites that look like gta parodys but we already knew that gta 5 was in production, it's a no brainer.

New leak:

After losing his job as the Aflac duck, comedian Gilbert Gottfried has once again been the source of controversy by proclaiming his involvement in the previously-unannounced Grand Theft Auto V.

Former celebrity Gilbert Gottfried unwittingly revealed Grand Theft Auto V's existence via Twitter last night, saying "just found out I'm voicing the lead in grand theft auto 5! also I hate japan lol." (editor's note: his message was taken down as of press time)

Gottfried was in the spotlight last week when he made some controversial comments about the current Japanese crisis, which resulted in him getting fired from the not-embarassing job as the Aflac duck. Now, just days later, he reveals that he is portraying the lead character in the next installment of the best-selling franchise.

A source told The Noble Eskimo that Grand Theft Auto V will present a more serious, gritty tone than previous titles and that the game's producers were very impressed by the depth of Gottfried's portrayal of the character Iago in Disney's Aladdin.

Grand Theft Auto IV developer Rockstar North (who is rumored to be working on Grand Theft Auto V) was approached for comment, to which they responded only with this picture .

Has anyone seen this yet. Doesn't matter, it's BS anyways. But thought it was worth posting. Since most of this topic is BS.

Hey maxopower, it was posted 3 posts before yours, hate to say this but you should probably facepalm yourself, i am tempted to pick apart that movie and find any references to any cities that are possible.

It was filmed in these Texas locations...it definitely means it will be set in las venturas rolleyes.gif

Building One, Studios at Las Colinas - 6301 North O'Connor Road, Irving, Texas, USA

Dallas, Texas, USA

Farmers Branch, Texas, USA

Fort Worth, Texas, USA

Have you played GTA IV? It was relatively serious, dark and dull, wasn't the greatest gta title in terms of having fun in a bright inviting environment.

Whatever your personal preference i suppose.

Cool question if I played GTA IV biggrin.gif For sure I loved it but it was not that gritty enough at least for me. I mean they made the real deal with the story, but the city itself wasn´t gritty. I want the city to be more dangerous.

But you are right they said the same about GTA IV.

No way the lead protagonist just found out he was voicing the lead in Grand Theft Auto V. We'd be way behind schedule. And if someone that involved with the project revealed something people would be very mad.

Maybe off-topic, but I just want to say i'm not a faker or something, that email was real, although i'm aware of the fact that it might mean nothing. I just wanted to share it in case it should be something smile.gif

Agreed on both points. How long would it take to record the dialogue for the protag? I dont think they are only just starting. And don’t they have to sign a non disclosure agreement or something? I can see him working as a character in the next gta but not the protagonist.

I also agree but the dialogue is also always done last so we still don't know. barf8bd.gif

Very good points above, also, he may have just found out the 'real' name of the project he was doing after he did the work. Didn't the guy who voiced Niko only find out it was GTA when it was complete?

Grittier the better.

I want car jackers, muggers, swarming the streets in certain areas. I want the feeling of knowing i should be watching my back when on foot in the middle of a gang neighborhood.

I dont want goofy like saints row, we have Saints row for that.

The site that reported this is a satire site. Basically, this is most likely fake.

Bear with me here. If Rockstar never reveals the true nature of a voice actor's role within a project, isn't is possible he has a part, but was only told it was the lead? In any case. Gilbert Gottfried's voice is a little too recognizable to be anything but a Giovanni Casa/Bernie Crane joke role. However, someone within the article made a great point about the depth of his role Iago in Aladdin. You can hear a little mobster in there. Interesting.

I think that may have been the case this time around aswell. It's got to be the real deal! Twitter is the number one source for leaks and actors leaking what projects their working on/have worked on.

This could mean two things: First is, that the development is nowhere in it's last stages so character voices are just being done. Second is that this is fake. Figure it out...

Well, you should have been there at the moment he posted it on his Twitter account, but you haven't!

In my point of view, the agreement between him and Rockstar was about doing voice acting for a project called 'RUSH', but then he has been informed that the real project is GTA V. Why did he mention that on his Twitter account? no real answer can be given other than our belief that Rockstar is building up the hype leading to the announcement of the game, so that's why there are have been a lot of leaks lately, mostly through Twitter.

It could be a joke at the end. It's the way you look at it! sigh.gif

Could he just be lying for attention. Seems like the type, a b-list comedian who no-one really cares about so comes out with a lie to get a big reaction from us. On the other hand, the poster Rockstar sent means that he is causing problems for them or that its what I said first of all and that he's just being a twat.

Oh, hell yes! It would be nice to see a pedestrian that wasn't a comedian for a change. Characters that didn't have to crack jokes all the time etc. People complain about IV being too serious, but they don't realize that that game was filled with comedy everywhere; on the radio, the tv, clubs, in the streets, billboards. Just about everywhere you could go really. It would be awesome to see just how immersive a GTA game could be, and in my opinion too much comedy stands in the way of that.
