Nial - I'd way its safe too say this is GTA related - I dont think R* have made another game with a 'in-game' internet.

Great find - we can deduce a few things from this - look at the domain names in question - certainly three of them pertain to the economy

* CashForDeadDreams.com

* SixFigureTemps.com

* StopPayingYourMortgage.net

Safe too say we are seeing a modern day GTA in a city - not a huge surprise but then we can likely discount a different era GTA.

lifeinvader.com - sounds too me like a advertised in-game game or a social networking reference.

Cheers guys, and yeah they have made sites for other in game stuff before, I think they had one for Babies Overnight amongst some others. But for other games, I'm not too sure, I can't think of any from Bully or any other Rockstar titles, but there may be.

I hope we see some virals going out before real GTA info, I love the whole viral thing and finding clues etc...

And Niall, I laugh every time I see it!

Not exactly the same, but related:

January 12, 2004

While everyone else was running around doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, Take-Two Interactive registered 10 Grand Theft Auto-related trademarks on December 17 and 21, 2003, including both GTA: Sin City and GTA 5. If you have been following the news on GTA recently, you probably already know this.

However, several more were registered, induding five more trademarked names, GTA: Sin City, GTA: Bogota, Grand Theft Auto: Sin City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and the entirely unheard of Grand Theft Auto: Bogota.

Also, I think they did the same around the release GTA VS, they released some fake travel agency site or something, selling tickets to Miami.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so very very much for finding something that might actually be related to GTA V or perhaps AGENT looms closer to the future then we first thought.

Something about this seems very right. Maybe we'll be hearing an announcement very soon? After all, March 1st was the day that we got that countdown timer on the GTAIV website back in 07'.

I'm wondering about the reason that makes Rockstar registers domain names of virtual GTA websites. They have been doing so since San Andreas as far as I remember. For example, they haven't only registered a domain of Cluckin' Bell, but they also created an interactive content (See it here). When you type a URL of a virtual website in GTA IV in your browser, you will be redirected to the game's website.

Do these new domains exist in GTA IV or its episodic contents? we need to find out, because if they don't, then we might have something indicates for GTA V, unless if there's another game that will feature in-game internet, but I doubt it.

Can someone explain me better the situation and what happened with pervious games?

Thanks

Part of the advertising for GTA IV was actual websites for stuff in-game. If you listened to the radio, they spoke about www.babiesovernight.com and that website as accessible on our Internet, not just in the game but here. These websites seem to pertain something similar from the in-game GTA V.

Heck, this is perhaps the first sign that we can realistically link to GTA V

No worries, I have been on the lookout for ages. I don't like to comment on most other things people seem to think could be future GTA related, because it is too obvious it isn't!

But this, I got a good feeling about this one. I don't think it's anything to do with LA Noire (Set in the 1940's, the internet didn't exist), or anything to do with Agent (Set in the Cold War, the internet still wasn't big enough for anything like mortgage repayment websites).

We can only wait and see, I'm all excited now.

Since the websites in GTA IV are spoof of real websites, then we might be able to look if we can find what real websites are spoofed by these domains, and the only way for this, is to find real websites which have similar domain name. I found this:

SixFigureTemps.com>>>> SixFigureTents.com

Seems like one of the website types that Rockstar loves to make fun of, especially with these people at the right side telling how they earned profits of their mobile sunglass tent.

The rest takes me to what looks like to be a phishing business website.

There's not actually any proof that R* had anything to do with these registrations. You can enter any information as contacts for the WHOIS record and it's never checked. It's especially suspicious that R* (supposedly) was perfectly happy to put their name on it but then used the registrar's WHOIS protection service to hide the postal and email addresses.

Compare hammersteinfaust.com to a domain definitely registered by R* like gta4.com (or perhaps for a fairer comparison pogothemonkey.com or cluckinbellhappychicken.com).

Very valid point there.

I guess only time will tell, I'm perfectly content with waiting to find out.

All I can do now is hope!

Maybe they used another server to host these domains rather than using their own servers. Cluckin' Bell domain servers, for example, are dependent to Take Two and Rockstar servers, whilst Hammersteinfaust domain servers are dependent to Network solutions company which offers the service of websites hosting.

I gotta say those domain names are very representative of R*'s humor...let's hope it turns out to be something!

Snake Without a Tongue

Finally, some real GTA evidence. I can just imagine the commercials behind those titles.

This makes It even more interesting. I think all this proves GTA V will be announced soon. Any scheduled Rockstar conferences/events coming up?

I think we will have a announcement soon after the release of L.A. Noire.

I sort of agree with you. LA Noire Is released In May, E3 2011 Is In June so that could be the ideal venue to announce GTA V.

Great find.

But can someone enlighten my ignorant self: Why do they register domains for fictional websites?
