sure.

I had lots of entertainment with Yakuza.

Yakuza 3 is an amazing game. the graphics and character animation might be from a bygone age, there's less voice acting in the game itself but this isn't a problem, better yet it doesn't lower the fun.

The story, the fighting, collecting items, the amount of minigames, sidequests and substories, learning new moves, creating weapons,...etc etc

The map is small compared to Liberty City but the city (or cities) appear to be much more vivid.

Yakuza is a fantastic mixture of rpg and 3rd person action-adventure, combines elements of final fantasy, tekken, grand theft auto in a realistic setting.

The stories have much to offer, I randomly pick out the "Hitman-missions", these alone would be a basis for another GTA, let alone the rest of the 100 substories...

I'm definitely looking forward to get Yakuza 4.

4 protagonists...even more content...well hopefully it's worth something...

I mean, even though Yakuza is great, there are certain things which seem repetitive...

the character Shinji Tanaka and Rikiya Shimabukuro...despite their similar appearance, both die by a gunshot in Kazuma's arms, both have been important key figures and were devoted to Kazuma, also, both endings Y1 and Y2 seem kind sof similar...oh...and Mine in Y3...well, it's kind of repetitive.

Still great games!

My brother might get Yakuza 4. You can actually download the demo if you have PlayStation Plus (which my brother has). I'd say the best thing about the Yakuza games is how the story plays out (especially cinematic cutscenes), and the developers do quite a job with that. All I'm hoping for is that the story will still be great with four protagonists. In the demo you get to fight as all four protagonists. Kazuma still fights like Kazuma, one guy pretty much exclusively kicks, the cop dude mostly punches (and he can arrest also), and you have that big guy that's kind of a brawler (it seems he can grapple larger enemies easier). I don't know all their names, but I'll probably follow the story closely when the game is released.

^ good to see someone actually appreciates those games. Yeh I read that the guy out of prison (Saejima?) with the hobo clothing and long hair shall be quite slow but really strong, the loan shark (Akiyama) shall be really quick with exclusive kicks but kind of weak...don't know about the young cop, maybe a gun? dunno.

Might get this today?

Any thoughts ? Impressions of the game

-Edit- Didn't know it was out on 18th

have you played a previous part?

well, now after 3-4 months of playing it, I can give a little resume.

STORY:

Has its high and low points...

You get to play 4 protagonists this time and Kazuma Kiryu, the main character of the previous Yakuza games plays only a little role.

His story is somehow the less interesting.

Still you have a familiar feeling playing this character and you have great moments fighting Akiyama, Tanimura and Taiga Saejima

.

The stories of Taiga Sejima and Masayoshi Tanimura are my favourite. The first has to break out of prison after a 25year stretch and the latter tries to find out the truth behind his father's murder. Both stories are connected to a mysterious woman who needs to loan 100 million yen by Akiyama, the third new protagonist.

Kazuma appears to be involved as a helping hand. Lots of familiar characters appear in the game as well, Haruka, Kage, Date, Daigo, Majima and some side characters.

The minigames and the map have only changed slightly. And the "main" story behind it all is kind of, well, not as good as previous ones.

At first you have so many new characters who appear to be the bad guy, but aren't too bad in the end.

Yakuza 4 still manages to create these suspenseful moments where you just wonder "why?" or "who?"

Then there are these moments where someone gets obviously killed but somehow survived, also these moments where a bad guy with a gun is knocked out and in the next situation he grabs back his gun and kills someone important. <- these situations appear to happen over and over in the Yakuza franchise.

The (premium) adventure mode features lots of sidequests and things to do, train a fighter, become a fighter, gambling, manage a hostess club, etc etc

All in all the game is worth buying in my opinion, but I would only recommend it to someone familiar to the Yakuza games. There are so many links to previous games and even side characters.
