GTA thinks I only have 59MB of resources available

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I just got a new PC and decided to install GTA IV seeing as it would run pretty good on it, but after installing it and starting it up, it automatically started in 800x600.

I went to the graphics options to change it, but it says in the bottom left that I've got something like 229/59MB resources being used.

I know that I have far more than 59MB though.

Because of this I'm not allowed to change the graphics settings at all, and if I want to play it it'd have to be on all low, in a really low resolution.

So what I was wondering is if there's a way to just bypass this limiter? Or to make it get the specs again, hopefully reading it correctly this time?

I tried emailing support, but haven't had a reply in about a week, so I thought I'd ask here.

Thanks!
