I've Bought A New Video Card But It Gives Me Probl

Recommended Posts

Help me friends!! I was playing GTA and suddenly my PSU burnt, so I bought a new PSU, a new Cooler and a new Video Card! My new video card is "Ati Radeon 5770", I like my new video card, the problem is that my mouse keeps freezing in the game. My mouse is bad, it freezes sometimes, but not everytime like when I'm playing GTA. What can I do? Help me please cryani.gif

My OS is Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, I have 4 GB of RAM and my processor is Intel Quad2Core Q8200 2.33 GHz!

I tried it, but it didn't help either. I think the name of my problem actually is "stuttering". I think I have to download a driver, but I don't know how to download cryani.gif

Anyway, I know I'm late. My guess would be minimize the game settings to:

Resolution: 800x600x16

Visual FX quality: Low

Anti-Aliasing: Off

Draw Distance: The lower, the better

Frame limiter: On

Hi Arsen Vitiuk! I did what you said. I entered the game in safe mode, and then I change the graphics to high, so I can play the game this way! My stuttering problem ended a bit, but not at all. sad.gif

Friends I tried the commandline, like this topic says http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=404147&st=0 but my game went crazy! Everything was with except for some objects! tounge.gif

I have a 1 gig card, so I used the memrestrict 629145600 HIGH TEXTURES (1Gig+ Video Cards) commandline. But I tried the -memrestrict 314572800 and it is working well! There's a little stutterings sometimes, though

I'll try! With -memrestrict 314572800 I had a little stuttering and the buildings and some objects took some time to load sad.gif Maybe -memrestrict 293601280 is better

I tried -memrestrict 293601280 and the stuttering was bigger and the buildings and some objects still took some time to load sad.gif

I've noticed that, without memrestrict, the textures doesn't take too long to load, but I have much stuttering. With -memrestrict, I have less stuttering, but the textures take too long to load. What can I do to have a game without stuttering and slow loading of textures sad.gif ? This video card was expensive!

Have you tried the solutions from the Pinned Troubleshooting topic by Wolf68k?

Problem #18

The mouse doesn't work during IV gameplay, but works flawlessly elsewhere (e.g. the desktop). The pointer may move while browsing the game menus, but cannot click, and scrolling doesn't work.

Solution: ALT+TAB out of the game, and then return to it.

Alternatively: Watch the first intro movie to the end.

Alternatively: Uninstall, re-name My DocumentsGTA IV User Files, and re-install.

OR this one
Problem #8:

Mouse sensitivity is all stuffed up.

Alternatively: Uninstall your mouse drivers and use the Windows generic default one. If you don't know how to setup your mouse correctly when using these mouse drivers (e.g. Logitech MouseWare), it may cause problems. Also, make sure you click on 'Restore Defaults' when in Controller Setup. This sets the mouse sensitivity settings back to the defaults. You should also make sure that the mouse pointer speed/precision settings are set to the middle in Control Panel.

Advice: Clean your mouse. If you have a regular mouse, clean the rollers and the mouse ball. If you have an optical mouse, clean the bottom of it. Please note that if you don't achieve 20-30fps during gameplay, your mouse will also lag

Also, using 98 compatibility mode can also help fix this problem on XP SP3, Vista SP1 and SP2, and Windows 7.(this has been mentioned numerous times on the forums. But, if you had read the Pinned Troubleshooting topic by Wolf68k(a Moderator), you would have had two options to try (which I quoted above from said topic). Just a friendly heads up to read the pinned topics before posting next time. smile.gif

Hi radioman, thank you for you help but I don't think this is a mouse related issue anymore. I saw some videos and I think my problems is the "stuttering", and now the textures that takes too long to load when I use -memrestrict sad.gif I'm very sad
