the Traditional FREEZE + 1 in 10 game load

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, im new in the forum. u seem the be the pro's in all this, so after alot of searching and no success ive decided to try to talk to u.

a while back when i bought the game i think it worked fine. but i stopped playing it. now i have some free time i came back to it, and after handling all the annoying other stuff i am left with these two:

1. when i want to start the game i click on the icon, even try to auto-play through the cd. most of the time nothing happens. if i autoplay i get the window where it wants to lunch social club but that's it. and in other cases when it does load - on the second legal window..just after it signs me in on my windows live user it crashes "gta VI has stopped working".

2. the freezes.....most of the times during mission movies, or when i aim my gun..but sometimes even when i just play and do nothing interesting the game freezes..i keep hearing the sound and stuff, then i get a black screen with white blocks on it..and then it continues. in other cases, it goes out to windows while the game is still running but i cant get back to it.

i tried to update my V card driver, and the audio card as well. i did the trick with the 44100 24bit + uncheck two boxes under it..

i disabled auto capture in the game.

my specs: radeon 4870 1 GB

Processor AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core Processor, 2600 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

4 gb of ram.

what can i do?! drives me crazy. thanks alot in advance.

EDIT: after the latest freezeout to windows while game is still playing (in which i cant get back to it) i noticed that the game causes a memory leak. any ideas now?

I'm not easterly sure what you're doing there, like those checkboxes you mention.

For the first issue, you're probably having a securom problem

- remove any disk imaging software you may have

- reinstall the vc++ libraries from the game disk

- use the securom diagnostics tool https://support.securom.com/analysis.php

About those freezes, try lowering the settings. Do you have a screenshot for those white blocks?

If the game minimizes on it's own, it's plausible you have some software in the background taking focus, you'll want to shut it down prior to running the game.

thanks for the reply man,

well there's a guy who wrote something about changing some audio options...didnt do nothing. never mind.

1. u talk about image softwares...is it relevant if i use an original cd? cause i am..

2. what is VC++ sorry for being a noob.

3. check this out - on the times the game doesnt open the social club - this is what happens :

http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/8168/82395570.png

this wefault opens up, shuts down the securom and then shuts itself down.

4. about the video freeze - they last a milisecond so i cant capture them. however...i use only 300MB out of 1000 when playing the game. i dont think it has something to do with the settings.

1. it's nice to see people using buying games, but nevertheless, programs like daemon tools cause conflicts with Securom

2. visual basic libraries, a file called vc_setup.exe should be on the game disk, in the redistributable folder. Secruom needs those libraries to work properly

3. you use the latest game version?

4. stuttering is what you experience and it usually isn't that easy to get rid off. You can try disabling the windows even log, that can help sometimes.

Have you changed anything else in your OS settings?
