[WIP] EFLC (TBOGT) Map Updates for GTA IV

GTA EFLC Map Updates to GTA IV

This mod will update the map for GTA IV. Note that work is still in progress and I still got to port many things over. Ill upload on gtagaming, gtainside, and moddb but you will have to look for it your self. (If its ok that I upload the files let me know so I know how to arrange the set up when this is ready to be released) But however I have screens of this conversion.

 

ALSO NOTE THAT I RESPECT THE POLOCY ON THIS FORUM SO THAT MEANS NO RELEASE WILL BE MADE UNTILL AN INSTALLER CAN BE DEVEOLPED THAT CAN COPY THE FILES FROM THE TBOGT DLC MAP OR EFLC TBOGT OR THE INSTALLER CAN VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE EATHER EFLC OR THE DLC AND DOWNLOAD IT FROM A PRIVATE SERVER. THIS IS DUE TO COPY RIGHT LAWS OF DLC CONTENT ON GTAF.

-Configure wpl files so the texture bugs can be fixed ALMOST DONE (only one left is bronx_w2.wpl. This one seems to be missing alot of stuff after converting the wpl)

?-Security Cameras at Alderny State Penitentry (Prison) WIP (I may not need to do this one because TLAD may just spawn them vea SCO. They arnt there in TBOGT)

-Confugure map to work on the DLC's WIP (Both DLC from Windows Live and EFLC. With this Id like DLC and EFLC users to have only one map to worry about when it comes to map modding).

-Fix Bowling ally bug WIP

-Fix bildings that were destroyed not being destroyed bug WIP

?-Configure the game so Brucies apartment from IV and the Brucies apartment from TBOGT both spawn WIP (I may not have to do this one because the intereior may work with IV and TBOGT but they both have different lighting so Im not 100% on this one)

 

MISC

-Updated characters (Johnny, Luis, Gay Tony, ect) ALMOST DONE (Just need a cutscene model for Luis, and ingame and cutscene modles of Toni Prince dressed the way he was in the mission in TBOGT where you get Gracie back. The TBOGT one looks different than the IV one).

-Combined TV shows (Combining Original GTA IV TV with TLAD TV, TBOGT TV, and EFLC exclusive TV) (may not be in first release) WIP

 

IF AND WHEN POSSABLE

-Combined Radio Stations (IV radio, DLC radio updates (Comes with the offical DLC), and EFLC radio all in one) (Not intil later on and may not even happen)

-Height Limmit for Helicopters the same height as it is in TBOGT but in all 3 games (IV, TLAD, and TBOGT) (If this is done then it will be optional).

 

Alderny is fully updated.

Algonquin is fully updated.

Broker, Dukes and Bohan are fully updated gameplay wise. I have to fix bronxw2.wpl so Elizibeta's apartment with the kitchen is there for TLAD. I also have to fix this conflict with Brucies apartment.

 

Also I may make a compatibility patch for this so the DLC's will use these map files so you can use mods like WTC or Vice IV on the DLC.

Note that this is WIP so I have to do some stuff to get everything working properly. This is a direct port from EFLC. The reason why it looks bad is because its not rendering properly because its not fully ported. Also I may make a private version for the XBOX 360. The reson why is because the XBOX version has all the maps combined into one up to date map so I can simply copy it over instead of combining files. Then I hotswap it. (I wont use it online its just to show what this will look like when complete). This will be done so I can make trailers of what the mod will look like when its complete. Also for compatibility reasons Im going to make this for EFLC as well. I know that sounds alittle silly but what I mean is get the episodes to read off the same fully updated map files just like the counsole versions. This will be so EFLC users can have an updated map in TLAD also and so map modders will be able to easly make their mods compatible with this rather than normal EFLC where you have 3 different maps you have to make your custom map work on.

Issues with porting/merging

 

For any and every contributations or assists I will give you credit for. For those intrested in helping here is what is needed.

 

The Files/bugs that need fixing: Realy need help with these!

*brook_n- I need help configuring this so I can have both the IV Brucie apartment so there is music playing in the backround during the cutscenes. Also I think but Im not 100% on this but the lighting in Brucies apartment is brighter in GTA IV than it is in TBOGT. But Brucies apartment is working in GTA IV.

*bronx_w2- I need help geting the texture bugs fixed. There are many objects where the lods are visable because many of the detaild objects for up close veiwing are not loading.

*I need help getting this to work with the DLC's. (TLAD and TBOGT) I need the DLC's reading off the same files GTA IV reads off of. AKA the files that come with this mod. I need it working with both EFLC and Games for Windows Live downloaded versions of the DLC's.

*I need help with geting the bildings that were destroyed during the campain to get destroyed at the right time. (including GTA IV bildings/objects, TLAD bildings/objects, and TBOGT bildings and objects at the right time in each game)

*I need help with fixing the bowling ally bugs so the music playes properly, the pins are visable, the machene that moves the pins is visable, and the score bord is visable)

 

For anyone who helps me fix these files will recive credit. These files are delaying the final compleate release. I will release the next beta soon that has the mods files but in a seprite folder has the files that are WIP so people can help me fix them and so they are on the same page as me. Anyone who helps will get this mod closer to the near completion. Its aready very close. smile.gif

When this is complete Ill find a way to get you guys the mod by varaflying you have EFLC or TBOGT DLC so no copy right laws are broken. Its realy not for the updates but also for compatability for map modding on IV and DLC.

Yea I might. Im using GTAGarage as a screen shot hosting. I may upload there as well. Also I have anuther idea for the copy protection. I make it a rar or zip thats password protected and release a program that will verify that you have EFLC or the TLAD DLC and if you do it gives you the password.

Yes but GTAF has rules about converting DLC files to prevent piracy so Im doing that to insure the person owns EFLC or TBOGT DLC or boath. If a moderator posts that I dont need an EFLC, DLC check than Ill upload it as if it were a normal map mod.

I want them to see that this is for compatibility of map mods like WTC so they work on the DLC. People with out the DLC dont need the WTC to work on a game they dont have but Im showing screens becuase people with EFLC/TBOGT still would like to use it for a complete map in all 3 games. Im sure that if the moderators do acept this and all goes well map mod teams will make a version for GTA IV, one for EFLC, and one for GTA IV/EFLC with this installed.(Would have compatibility for both as the original map would have all the updates and the DLC updates will be turned off so its read from this mod). I realy hope a moderator verifyes this and tells me that it is ok if I do this at least with the checks. It would help the map modding comunity and people with DLC/EFLC with episode compatibility for maps.

Dont worry I will. I would like some people to help me as I cant get shadow mapper to work on my computer. (Dont need to worry about no cols for extereiors as they are ported. I may get you guys screens of the Final Prev (XBOX 360 version). The xbox one wont be released but all the files are merged on EFLC so I just simply move them over.

We won 't allow such a scheme with a password check, as it can too easily be circumvented. The rules are very clear about conversions.

One option that might be possible if your installer doesn't contain the modified files themselves, but uses the original, already present' DLC files, and applies the needed changes to them by means of patch-tools. But this will probably be very laborious.

I would really urge you to create your own stuff, instead of just re-using rockstar stuff.

 

For the record: we won't allow references to third-party hosting of stuff we don't allow hosting ourselves.

I am trying to figure out a way where the reguler files are configed to be loaded but with replaced objects not set to spawn. Then Ill configure it so it will read from the DLC files spawning the updates. So all the user will have to do is copy their map files over from their DLC/TBOGT directory. I could config it into the files and delete things that are updated from the original files so they dont spawn. This way the game will read from the original files with replaced objects removed and the DLC files which are added. This is identical to the setup on the XBOX 360 EFLC. Thats also an option to try.

To actually do all the things in Maisonette as niko you need TBOGT script file that Maisonette uses. Without it the club will be empty and there will be no people or music inside it.

I know, i know. But we can do this possible with the Simple Trainer! Or you simple replace luis through Niko, and the Anim Files.. Works great too and you get a cool GTA IV Feeling: Video:

No Im porting this to reguler IV and the reason behind it it so I can make all 3 games run off the same map files so maps like WTC can work on all 3. But yes I do like the idea of the script file. Using Niko in TBOGT would not help the compatibility part.

 

Edit: What does this game do with xpl's? Are they just left over files from the XBOX 360 version? Is their any way to port a xpl to a WPL?

I appologize for the dubble post but I have an announcement thats big for this mod.

Using the Placement Tool Im able to now port the wpl files. This is also fixing the graffics bugs and it could make the files that dont work when I combine the IMG files aculy work. Ill post more pics soon.

The extereiors are ported all golden but Masonet9, Hercules, and Bahamma Mammas wont port. Im also missing Luis safehouse, and the fighting club. But that one should not be that hard but the night clubs are an issue. Maybe because they have specal lighting animations on them or something.

Maybe you should ask Sjaak for help, he likes to help other modders. This isn't a simple mod for ppl who don't own TBOGT, but rather something that would not restrict you of playing TBOGT for TBOGT map/features and same with TLAD.

Maybe you should ask Sjaak for help, he likes to help other modders. This isn't a simple mod for ppl who don't own TBOGT, but rather something that would not restrict you of playing TBOGT for TBOGT map/features and same with TLAD.

Your right i hope he release on these sites.And he is great modder he could help him.

Thats not a bad idea. Sjaak may also be able to make a version of his amazing trainer for this mod because of the fact that it will be used also to aid other map modders. Last thing I will upload on gtagaming and gtainside. Also I may upload on moddb. Ill pm Sjaak.

so in less words your doing this couse your own benefit just to have it running from a main source? much tbogt stuff

will be empty and kind of incomplete man, TBOGT does much scripting to do that awesome night atmosphere

No. Its for the compatibility of maps. I may do the scripting part of it and also make it so things that get destroyed get destroyed. EX: the crane in TBOGT. This has a few perpuses. But I might just lock the clubs like in TLAD on the Xbox 360/ PS3 EFLC but probaly not. I may add more content tho so Niko can go to Massonett 9 with Brucie or Roman. But I dont want to alter the story. Another purpuse is just simply to drive by the club and have it aculy be there rather than some random bilding. Last if it was for my benifit only I would not of even posted this topic. Anyways there are more screens that will be up soon.
