Recommended Posts

My friend gave me GTA IV PC game because he doesnt meet the system reqs... (well maybe he's an idiot that he doesnt read back of the cover? angry.gif )

Anyways: I did update my GTA IV to 1.0.7.0, logged in LIVE, tried to play online:

"You must be logged in Rockstar Games Social Club to play online"

-> I go to Rockstar Games website and search for RGSC.

-> download and install it

-> install -> you system is not compititable (I have win 7 x64)

-> use in comp. mode to Windows Vista SP2 or XP

-> installed

-> Log in (with my email and password)

First login SUCCEED and it worked.

Next day..

I tried to log in to Social club normally, but it said my username or password is wrong.

I did type them exatly as they are

I did even try password recovering and use that pass came in Email.

Not working

I created another account (yeah, dont tell rockstar suicidal.gif ) and it worked

Today i tried again, the first or another account didn't work

Im getting used to this

Any help?

Try using xliveless or launch the game from the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! I dont use RGSC to launch my game, i just want to play online multiplayer, XLiveLess is not what im looking for because i want multiplayer, thats why i did install RGSC

(1.0.7.0 update removed RGSC suicidal.gif )

You don't need the separate RGSC app anymore, that's why it's uninstalled with patch 7. You should wait a few days to see if it's an error on their side, their servers are known to be messed up often.

Alternately, if you can log in with the separate RGSC app, then you should start the game in offline mode, then minimize the game log in with separate RGSC and then you should be able to access on-line mode.

carcols.dat

Same problem here. Updated to 1.0.7.0 and the game requires me to be logged into RGSC. Installing the application fixed it. Those who are on Windows 7 should set the setup.exe's compatibility mode to "Vista SP1" in order for it to install.

Too bad multiplayer is completely deserted. This was my first time trying it and I was really let down by the lack of people. Does no one play it anymore?

Actually when i try to login to Social Club, it just doesnt login. If i create a new account, the new account works fine... for 1 day..

Does that work for you too ?

I'm using an old account. No idea what's wrong with yours. Maybe a mod is conflicting (though the noDVD patch hasn't caused any issues for me).

Mine does sometimes when i launch Social Club, it just says "Updating, 0%" and it doesnt change a procent, then the social club app launches.

Login failed, with my original accout again.
