El Zilcho
Due to computer sharing, someone who shares my computer has downloaded BearShare. We uninstalled it but it keeps on appearing as a new tab. Managed to rectify that but the f*cking two bit rubbish constantly appears in the URL. I pinpointed the folder in Program Files (BearShare applications) to delete it and remove it from my computer completely but everytime I click delete it comes up as Access Denied. Don't want to get any fancy programs to delete something so can you tell me how to end the application/stop it from appearing in the URL of new tabs. I am running Internet Explorer. Thanks. Bernard Jazz
Try loading windows in safe mode. This is usually done by pressing F8 when you start your PC up until the option to start in safe mode appears, then you should be able to delete the folder. Also I would recommend running a spyware/malware scan, Malwarebytes is a good free program that will do the trick. Finally it's not a good idea to use Internet Explorer since most online threats target IE, there's plenty of alternatives such as Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari. El Zilcho
Sorted! I used safe mode as you said and it's gone now. Getting Firefox back soon, missed that browser's sexiness. Also, what's the opinion on having two web browsers at once? Does it really leave you more suseptible to viruses/malware etc? Or is it fine if I have IE and Firefox? Thanks again. I've got IE, Firefox and Chrome, and I dont think I've had a virus or piece of malware in the last 2 years or so. It depends entirely on your antivirus, antispyware, browsing habits and the suchlike.
