I just voted a poll in GameFAQs today and quite suprisingly, Nintendo ranks highest . I mean, WTH?

So i just make a new poll here to see if it'll be ended up the same.

The poll's name in GameFAQs = Which major game publisher do you most trust to publish the best games?

Edited by eHanHz

1; it's a f*cking poll, not a scientific study nor factual

2; this is a GTA forum, therefore most gamers here would own a PS3/360/PC. So already there is unfair leverage against Nintendo.

3;Nintendo's first party titles actually remain consistently high in terms of quality.

Also, there is a difference between PUBLISHER and DEVELOPER. Publishers simply buy up any smaller company that can make good games. So the question is really 'who has the most money to buy up good developers?'.

Not true. Publishers have their own quality control divisions.

I have to go with take two...

I thoroughly hate EA and Activision... they both have some good games but the way they go about seemingly pissing off the consumers by A. not listening to them at all, and/or B. seemingly making minuscule changes from one game to another even tho they have plenty of time doing so.

I know I'm risking the flames, but I've gone for EA. All publishers are trying to empty your wallets, but if you're talking games then they've got some stellar franchises and it's always a quality product.

My exact thoughts.

Most of my favourite games are from EA. Skate, Mass Effect, Rock Band, Dead Space....the list goes on and on.

EA has official developer forums with community managers for the games that I know of. Do Rockstar?

Yup just look at the Bioware forums and see what feedback they have taken for the improvements for Mass Effect 1 to 2.

Take Two/Rockstar listen to their customers and help solve their problems/fix previous issues in new game releases/release games on every platform that demands it? Since when?

I think the biggest question though is why the f*ck is Valve not listed in that poll?

I suppose, with everything on that list currently I have to go with Blizzard, even though I haven't properly played a Blizzard game since Diablo I know from word of mouth and random tidbits of news that come my way that they're almost as good as Valve are at both releasing patches to fix issues in their games, providing new content with consistent quality and having a healthy relationship with their customer base.

Still, Valve are the true winners here since they're by far the most innovative, consistent and intuitive developer/publisher in pretty much all of gaming.

The person who voted for activision should be shot.

I voted Blizzard. Kindoff a shame to put them in the same basket as Activion but Blizzard is dedicated to releasing quality titles and content.

Activision Blizzard

Why should he be shot?

Long Haired Freaky Guy

I voted for Nintendo, as that's the company I've grown up with and I have the most faith in them for always getting everything right and releasing it on time.

EA came a close second, but I prefer EA Big, which I don't know if is classed as the same company or not? There games are great, and although a few mistakes and sh*t, they still come second. The only thing I have against them is they seem to always shut down multiplayer lobbies every now and then. It's kind of basically telling people that they should be buying the new one in the series and not be playing the old one.

As a company on the whole I'd go for Sony as I've used their products for as long as I can remember and never experienced any problems or hassle. (That's reason why I chose PS3 over the 360 tounge2.gif )

But as this poll is about publishing, I've voted for Ubisoft. Not only most of their games solid, but their PR system is excellent as they make sure that the fans are always in the know. The slick marketing campaign that was produced for ACB proves this.

the EA forums are a mess or at least the EA Sports ones are. Nothing like entering a captcha every time you post just cause of spam bots yet it doesnt even stop them.

And the Developers at EA Sports (idk about the rest of the areas) dont even visit their forums. they rely on "Game Changers" to give imput. The Mods cant ban trolls or other annoyances and instead can only give a message to an admin which then takes seemingly around a month to ban said annoyance.

I do love some of EAs games but the ones that i grew up on (Madden, NBA Live) are either an exclusivity deal away from possibly going under (Madden), or betting on a name change to sell a game and then canceling it because of some nasty glitchs (NBA Live).

As a huge American Football fan when ever i see their motto for Madden 10 , "If you see it on Sunday, its in the game", its a slap in the face to the loyal American Football fanbase.

Its not very often i find my self wanting a company to fail but in order for a great NFL game like NFL 2k5, EA will have to lose its exclusivity deal lawsuit. Which will get every game who's paid for a Madden game since 2005 to get a full reimbursement. and thats some $200 i'd love.

NOTE: I would have voted for Bethesda and Zenimax.

It's a toss-up between Ubisoft and EA.

Ubisoft has to win it for me, though. Ubisoft is good at putting out innovative games that push boundaries and expand genres. Like Ghost Recon. They took what they used in Rainbow Six, in terms of strategy and planning, and then put that into a war game. So we got a good blend of action and strategy. They also know when and how to reinvent their franchises when they've become stale. Such as Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell: Conviction, GRAW, and now GRFS. I also love how they're doing things with Uplay. More achievements, and DLC as rewards is all win for me. Now I know there is a lot of animosity between Ubisoft and PC gamers due to DRM, and recently because Ubisoft shutdown a mod for a nearly decade old Rainbow Six 3. Sadly (and I really do mean that), I haven't played an Ubisoft game on PC since Rainbow Six 1.

I like Take 2 the most because they always deliver fun, and generally very well polished games like RDR, GTA, Bully, etc. I would never like anything by Activision because (right now) they just milk franchises. I guess back then you could just trust them (late 1990s and early 2000s) but now they r just a juggernaut of crap. Also EA likes to screw up games from time to time. For those of you who like EA, take a look at their EA sports titles. Its the same crap every yearr

...who the f*ck voted Activision biggrin.gif Very funny.

No one, we voted Blizzard, since technically speaking they're the same company nowadays, even though Blizzard essentially has complete autonomy.

This, reading the threads you post in helps.

Yeah... the EA Sports section is horrid.

Plus what they've done with the Sims franchise. they turned it into a 100% community driven game that showed respect to its gamers but now everything (not made by the community) costs. Oh you want a side table? $5. mad.gif
