nkjellman Posted February 11, 2011 Share Posted February 11, 2011 I beleve that this idea may be a way to make map mods work in all 3 games. *For GTA IV with DLC: We need to figure out how to port the TBOGT map to GTA IV but make it so when the mod is installed you tell it where your DLC directory is so its not stealing. Then we can make the DLC's not update the map at all. So then you will have all the map updates and be able to easly make map mods work with the one TBOGT map for the 3 games. *For EFLC: We know that EFLC on the PC has the original GTA IV map, TLAD has the TLAD map, and TBOGT has the fully updated TBOGT map. So when we direct the program to EFLC it will update the Normal GTA IV map to the TBOGT one and make the DLC's not change the map to the TLAD map or the TBOGT map. So it will be a stock TBOGT map like on the XBOX 360 and the PS3. So if we do this we will have an updated map in all 3 games for one but the other reason is so we can put in modded maps very easly and have them work with all 3 games and port them to EFLC. This would get the game to read off of one TBOGT map rather than IV's map, TLAD's map, and TBOGT's map for each of the corrasponding games. But someone would have to set this up so it would work and takes the modles from the DLC so its legal and can be uploaded on gtaforums. So if we made one TBOGT map work on IV or as the defalt map IV map in EFLC and make the DLC's not replace any of the map files we would have a shot. EFLC on the XBOX 360 and the PS3 are like this. They use all the same map files. Modders on the XBOX version modded the map in EFLC and one object that was used was the Sexy Time yaght that you steal the buzzard off of and destroy. The yaght apeard in TBOGT and TLAD. However with all the DLC and EFLC PC thats not the case. You cant get the yahgt to spawn in TLAD. This way the modded map would be used instead of being replaced with DLC map files for updated areas of LC. Just Play TBOGT on Vice IV and you will see what I meen. We would not need to update the normal map in mods like Vice IV but we would need to update LC in mods like The World Traide Center. With out updating we would have the towers but none of the new intereiors would be there which would make the game not playable if your playing the campain. For example if you play TBOGT with IV's map right when you load your save you would be where Luis's safe hous is and fall under the map. If you start a new game you would not be able to get into Masenett 9 when Tony has to make some calls and tells Luis to work the floor. But if you play that mod on a DLC the file that makes the towers spawn is replaced so they dont work in the DLC. If you use a TBOGT or TLAD map object in your simple native trainer you only would be able to use that map in DLC's that have the model or other wise CRASH. Its just a good way to get compatibility in all 3 games but we need to find a way to get this to work so the models are copyed from your DLC or EFLC install so its not stealing and allowed on gtaforums. And we can just use the wpl files. Also some new files will be introduced that arnt going to be combined. Ill try and combine files for one area and Ill let you know how it works out. Edit: To start off I combined the office.img. Now I have the updated Inernet Cafe computer monater screen. Now it has the TBOGT one that says I LOVE LC instead of Inernet cafe logo([email protected]) like in the original GTA 4. A small change but Ill update you guys more with some acual map updates. Also Dont wory about the streams. If the game does not reconize the vehicle it will spawn a random IV one. Atleast the XBOX 360 one does but Im sure the PC will do the same. Edit 2: Did Manhat01 and crash. I think Im going to need someones aid on this. Edit 3: I need to do more work on the wpl's. I put the normal one back for manhat01 and now only the IMG and ide are ported. Now it works fine and I have the parking space outside of heli tours with cols working. I have combined the img files but some caused a crash. Most of the LODS are working but due to the fact that Im having truble with the wpl files (ones outside img files) I think that is why there are many textures missing. Missing textures are most of the updated bildings. I think if that if someone could help me with the wpl's and the cuple of img files that cause crashes we can make this work. Another bug is the intereiors are missing. Where the entrence to the building would be is just an opening leading to falling under the map or being inside the extereior. Places sorta updated: -Raterdam tower -The Bulding in China town -Heli tours parking (with cars spawning) -Lost Club House -Me TV Bilding -Golf Course -Computer Screens at Inernet Caffe Thats it as you can see. When I upload screens on GTA garage you will see what is wrong with it and may aid me into fixing it.
