Ukrainian firearms

I understand this could probably go in General Chat. But we have to take into account the many firearms that we've already seen in the IV era. So I'm posting this here.

 

Been working on a 3rd DLC concept for some time. Plan is to base the protagonist off Marat Balagula, and tweak him once I get deeper into the project. Marat was often described as 'The Russian Tony Soprano', who made a fortune off bootlegging gasoline. Problem is, I know little to nothing on firearms! Bear in mind, any Ukrainian criminal organization is deeply tied to the Russian ones, sometimes even considered part of Solntsevskaya Bratva. Consider how this sort of gang typically clings to the Brighton (Hove) Beach families. Even if this is never seen through , I'll at least do some graphics work. My question is. Take all this into account. Do any weapon models come to mind? Or is it typical Bratva affair.

 

Also, take this into account. A Ukrainian-American gangster will definitely have ties to major Russian and Russian American organizations. And ties to any, but not all of the following in their native countries: Jewish, Armenian, Georgian, Belorussian. I guess, if you know of any firearms tied to any of these mafias, make a note of that. Thanks!

you've got your obvious Kalashnikov pattern rifles, the Skorpion, RPD, SKS. generally Russian/Eastern Europe weapons tend to do suit.

I have a couple of Russian weapons in my concept: The VSS Vintorez, the Saiga 12 (Currently unposted), a Kiparis SMG and a PKM.

the WIP pic of your Saiga 12 you posted looked beast, cant wait to see the final product! I attempted one on paint by modifying the Assault Rifle icon but it looked worse then any of my current icons.

 

back on topic, a Dragunov or scoped Mosin could work?

the Vepr http://world.guns.ru/assault/ua/verp-e.html looks interesting, alternative to the Steyr/SA80 ideas cropping up.

 

the Z-008 http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sniper-rifles/...yar-z-00-e.html could make for a decent reskin of the current bolt action sniper rifle.

 

similarly, the Fort 500 in any model http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/ua/fort-500-e.html seems like it could replace the current pump action shotgun.
