GTA IV will not run after applying all patches

I have recently reinstalled the game after playing the Lost and Damned and Ballad Of Gay Tony for the last year or so. Iv applied all the patches but when i try to launch it, the loading disc shows next to the mouse, i can hear the disc running and everything. But then nothing happens. Its worked fine before because iv completed it twice and played it a lot.

Have you applied the GFWL update too?

If it still doesn't work, try Xliveless.

Like the person above me says, try GFWL update. (It took me half a year to find out.)
