GKP
It has been a long term issue with GTA - I suspect hardware related , that events that go on around the player have limited 'staying power' and disappear after a short while or once you have left the area and returned. I am pessimisstic that this will be resolved in the next game as it is a technical constraint. Is anyone technically minded enough to know whether this can be remedied given the power of the current consoles and their RAM limitations ? Was RDR any different in this respect (although there were less objects onscreen so not sure if a good example) Police spawning might be less of a hassle to resolve, if only by simply delaying their appearance R* could delay their arrival and give a more realistic depiction of 'getting away' with a crime. We should not be able to evade the police by simply travelling outside of their line of sight for a certain time. Our wanted levels should only decrease if we change cars, and even then only when not in police line of sight. First off no just no everything doesn't need to load at once as matter of fact RDR has seemless ped spawning so everything actually looks like is been there the whole time. I don't think that with the current Gen of consoles unless MS and SONY realease something like an XBOX 490 and a PS3.5 untill an actuall next gen console is built were in the dark. However if you are on pc i must assume that you could hack it or mod it someway to let you but you would have a monster PC Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/469233-disappearing-cars-peds/#findComment-1060330546 Share on other sites

Mr.Moffat
Well, back when gta 3 came out it had the same problem, ie cars would appear in clumps and then at times could vanish all together if you looked away for a second, but then VC came out and the cars rarely vanished right in front of you, plus they spread the car spawning out, so you would have more of a stream of traffic rather than just a clump of 3 , Then SA came out and it had quite alot of cars on screen, it was impressive. Now IV was really bad for cars dissappearing, but to be fair, it could spawn alot of cars on screen at times and they were quite varied in model, well the ps3 version could anyway, yes admitidly some areas were empty, but other times it made sense, ie what time it was. I did notice more cars during the day, rather than in the wee hours of the morning. ANd I think the patchs and updates have kinda fixed any issues with spawning, and the BOGT seemed to have alot more cars on screen aswell, so yeah, im fairly confident the next GTA will be much better! it happened in the 3 era. As for cops, this is why im against the idea of introducing traffic laws due to the fact that a cop may spawn when I think the coast is clear. So R* can either do what Driver does and always show cop cars on the map. Second option, Limit amount of cops able to chase you when you have a wanted level. Example, 3 stars you have a maximum of 4 cop cars following you. so you need to outdrive them or like CTW you take them out, then once they are gone, your stars grey, and five new cop cars will apper on the map, and you must use this window to escape or change cars. I actually like this idea, but it will only work if they really ramp up the police chase AI otherwise it would be to easy! I mean reaally ramp it up, anyone who has played DRiver 1,2 or 3 will know what im expecting (k maybe not as violent, but the abilty to follow you) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/469233-disappearing-cars-peds/#findComment-1060330930 Share on other sites
Nova69_7
I always though a good idea would be to 'mark' your cars so they stayed wherever you parked them and maybe even also appear on the map. The number of vehicles you could 'mark' would increase as the game went on. That would introduce an element of 'strategy' to certain missions and would eliminate your bloody cars dissappearing if you went more that 10 yards away from it. Another annoying thing about IV was that if you were driving down a road and it was clear ahead of you and then tilted the camera up so you were effectively looking down on your car/bike and then let it go so it returns to normal, a massive fecking queue of traffic appeared in front of you and you ploughed straight into the back of it!!! I don't know if it was my PS3 trying to p155 me off but more often than not, the car immediately in front of me was usually a Police Car and I got a wanted level!!! If they managed to fix that in the next game then that would be good enough for me. Speaking of wanted levels, The police 'circle of terror' was actually introduced in Scarface: The World is Yours and if I had to guess, RockStar just nicked it. (Note: I shall now prepare for libel case by RockStar...) but is still a good element and I wouldn't actually change that.
