I'm a terrible helicopter pilot but I'm not too bad at the controls of a jet, oddly enough. I'm a decent rifleman but I'm really, really good at destroying tanks.

 

On another note: I'm going to see Andy McNab in less than an hour!

Me too, i can't seem to fly them at all in BF3, i could do it just fine in BC2.

I find the Heli's are very, very simple to fly this time. Still not used to the jets yet but i'm getting the hang of it. It's so much more simple compared to BF2.

Would any PC guys be interested in a game or two of rush? It's actually quite fun in BF3, in my opinion, especially with not stupid squaddies.

 

EDIT: @ helicopter: I love raping infantry with the Little Bird. It's so simple, because they don't expect it and no-one uses Stingers. I mow bitches down like nobody's business.

Jets are a pain to level up. So far I've only been going for ground targets, I'm going to start aiming for aircraft only since I only have the machine gun. No flares makes it annoying.

Some people don't seem to realise a tank can have a coaxial machine gun, I've caught some people off guard with it so many times, mainly people who think they can run past and think i haven't noticed them.

Got it like two days ago, pretty good so far, but have no want to play by myself. I have to have buddies to want to play.

 

The singleplayer is pretty crap though, about as linear as linear can be, and not even pulled off well. I gotta hand props to cod, because at least they do it right. The airplane mission wasn't that bad, I actually liked it, but I wish they had let us fly it so we could get some practice in.

 

The multiplayer is sweet so far, have only played squad rush and Conquest, but I love it. I mainly play as assault but every now and then engineer if there are enough vehicles. I am absolute crap in jets though, been in it 3 times now. 0 kills and 2 deaths, and crashed into another jet. Yeah, I crashed into another jet......

So, I got my book signed by Andy McNab last night.

 

 

It was a nice evening, he's a really funny guy and shared some really interesting stories. His thick South London accent gnawed on me a little after a while, though.

 

The Armchair Soldier is another nickname of mine, in case you were wondering. It always gets a laugh out of people, McNab included who questioned me about it. He also questioned me on whether or not I enjoyed the game and how far into I've gone and told me to read the novel to get a better insight into Dima's background.

 

I also met Chris Ryan the other week who signed another of my books.
