The graphics problems on the 360 were quite exaggerated. The game looks great considering the hardware. A few texture problems on walls and such, but I didn't see anything major. Definitely equal to or better then BC2.

 

You'll all see that for yourself tomorrow anyway.

I got the code to play on PC (I bought MOH on PC ages ago lol) but whenever I start the download on stupid Origin, Origin crashes.

 

I guess I'll just wait till the open beta to get it on PS3.

Luckily, I was just able to play about half an hour of the beta. It was resonably good but not as good as I was expecting, the lack of vehicles is astonishing and so too is the map size, it doesn't feel like a proper Battlefield map.

 

The weapons are reasonably strong and none seemed over powered, the recoil was tolerable too. The pistols are weak as f*ck though. It is sort of dissapointing, if I have to reload I pull out my pistol and then I get blasted by some guy.

 

There are A LOT of bugs that need to be ironed out for the final build. Falling through the ground and glitched kill-cams are an annoyance, and quite common. However, worst of all, I just died from standing in the grass when I just respawned, WTF nobody was shooting at me it just said I died and did not show any name from another player.

 

The laser things are really f*cking annoying as if a friendly shines it into your eyes it is showed. Friendlies can also push you which is incredibly irritating as I died once from being pushed into the fray by some dumb f*ck.

 

Suppresion is one of the greatest features to Battlfield 3 and I genuinly felt afraid of going out of cover. Also, the stabbing animation is F*CKING AMAZING! Honestly, I screamed like a school girl when I killed an enemy with a knife, it was that good! All the animations look exceptional and the lighting, even on my PS3, is magnificent.

 

Unfortunatly, I lost connection and I couldn't join another game.

 

I hope you enjoyed my basic first impressions review of the Battlfield 3 Beta!

 

EDIT - The sun rays that one would usually see turn into blue even when one is not looking at or even near the sky, meaning half of your screen is blue which can be quite a distraction and ultimatly cause your demise on the battlfield. Also, there is some texture pop-in on the PS3 version.

I sorted out my Origin problems, seems my virus protection stuff was stopping it from downloading anything, causing it to crash. Anyway it's downloaded now so I think in a little while I'm gonna try it out

@VL, You don't download the beta from the marketplace that why it's not showing up, you input a redeemable code which is emailed to you.

If only they could hold weapons right id be happy, this is some intense sh*t, so much noise and explosions going on.

it is interesting to note that on the main menu for choosing a multiplayer game, one is given the option to choose the map AND game mode. Perhaps we might see Conquest or Team Deathmatch on Operation Metro. Or, we might seem some Caspian Border action!

 

It seems like a pointless feature to add if we are not going to see other game types or maps. Unless of course DICE is trolling us again (God, the word 'soon' will haunt me forever ).

Just got 20 - 8, with the shotty, there is this part outside at the start, with this tree and bushes all around it and right next to the trunk is open grass and a whole load of them were hiding there spawning so I shot them all then used it as my pouncing area, as they all run past and hide near the walls I just pop out and shotgun them all.

 

Even people trying to be sly being prone, they just get flechette to the buttocks.

 

This owns. Though the sound seems to be non existant sometimes, not sure why.

 

 

 

Edit: grenade got stuck in a bush and suicided = fail.
