Is it "playable" if I connect an Xbox controller to the PC?

...why in the hell would you want to play the game with a pad if you have a keyboard and a mouse?

You'll get torn to pieces playing with a joypad against mouse and keyboard players. Better get it for a console if you have one. Or get more mouse space.

Not sure about 360 controllers, but here is a useful driver if you want to use your Dualshock 3 with your PC.

If BF3 has mappable controls then it should do, try it on the beta. It worked wonders on San Andreas on the PC version.

Yeah, when I changed the setting I could see something change when I looked at the grass, but I couldn't tell what. AF or something? Other than that I saw no change. I got about the same framerate on all settings, so I don't think it was something super requiring that was changed.

The alpha was also on the DX9 API, unlike the full game which isn't going to support DX9 at all.

Wasn't it going to be scalable or some crap? My system is already chugging along as it is, DX10 isn't exactly going to make matters much better.

 

Also leaked Battlelog pictures. In the alpha I spent a few hours, I sh*t you not, typing ANGRY messages on the support forums imploring Dice to remove the giant-ass K/D meter from the main profile:

I don't really care what kind of beast you need to have to play this game on high/ultra or whatever. I only care about the gameplay. And graphics matter only in single player for me. I always tone down settings in multiplayer games because of with that lighting and other effects I can't see sh*t. With toned down effects it's easier to spot targets.

I recently looked at the official Battlefield 3 US forums and noticed something. If I bought MOH: LE for PS3, will I get an email? I thought us PS3 users were just supposed to download the beta from the Playstation Store.

 

I noticed that one would need 2 580's in Sli to run Battlefield 3 in ultra settings,what sort of framerate would one average? Also, if I am going to build a PC in December this year, should I just wait for the 6XX series nVidia cards?

I think that the 580 SLI thing means a solid 60+ FPS. I think the only reason he even said that as a ballpark estimation is because that's the set-up Dice has been using for showcasing the game. The guy who said is such a goddamn tool anyway and you shouldn't trust a word he says.
