New2_IV
Hey, I bought GTA IV yesterday, I installed it and I got a few problems: 1. I could never sign in to the game live thing, it keeps saying that I didn't sign in and that my progress will not be saved 2. The game's fps is sooo low , its lagging and I can't move anything even though my computer specs exceed the specs required by a fair amount according to "Can You Run It" website. New2_IV
Start an offline account instead of signing in with a GFWL account. How do I start an offline account? where do I go? Make sure all unwanted background apps, especially updates and scan are not scanning or updating. I don't have anything running in the background but it's still lagging a lot, I can't even move. meson1
I've reported your thread (in a nice way) to ask for it to be moved to GTA IV » PC Performance Tips. The chaps in there are very good and will be able to help you out. You will need to supply some information about your machine and settings. Good luck. VercettiCrimeFamily
Firstly downloads 'xliveless' and put it in your iv directory then run the game , basically xliveless blocks windows live as for the lag in fps get a better graphics card 'can you run it' isnt really telling you that you can run the game with good fps Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/468663-wtf/#findComment-1060319529 Share on other sites

The Lolwut Pear
Get an NVidia 9500 GT. I run it fine with this card. By the way, Can You Run It? is unreliable in so many ways. spaceeinstein
If you are spending so much just for one game, then it's not worth the money to play the game on the PC. You're better off financially if you get a console instead. Having an upgraded PC doesn't mean it will only benefit just one game. I don't want to get a console, I'm willing to upgrade the graphics card if that's the only thing that's holding back from playing all the new games, but if everytme i wanted to play a new game then I have to buy a new upgrade for it then I don't know, what else is old in my computer other than the graphics card?
