Trying to do this achievement on the XBOX360...

Liberty City Minute

Complete the story missions in less than 30 hours

....im currently about 1/3 through in about 3 hours, so im well on track to do it I think but what im wondering is do the movies between missions count on the overall timer? I have been skipping them currently but sometimes Im alittle confused as to what mission im doing.

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

Yeah the cutscenes count, you'll still do it in under 30 hrs even with watching them though so don't worry.

The only thing that stops the timer is entering the pause menu

also the 'in game' time passed using sleeping/pay 'n spray doesn't count towards the timer.

More tips for this achievement are, make sure to pick up all the weapons that your enemies drop.

Use taxis to get to as many missions as possible, and save often. Just in case you get killed or get arrested.

It's pretty easy to do it and don't worry about the cut scenes. You can watch them all so the game is more fun and you know more what the objective for the mission is.

I watched them all and still made it in around 20 hours without really hurrying at all.

I'm not sure the cut scenes do count you know - I thought it was only time spent in control of Niko. But one way or the other Captain Obvious is right; you do have time to watch them. I got in done in 15 hrs and I watched them all. (trip-skip taxis everywhere, reloaded rather than replayed failed missions, belted through it in other words) so; plenty of wriggle room...

Another thing I noticed: watch out for story spurs. I somehow never got round to finishing Brucie's missions and got the achievement without even playing "No 1". I don't know when his missions stop being relevent, but if you've got a choice maybe pick a different one, until you run out of options...

You only have to do up to 'out of the closet part 1' with Brucie, Basically once you've requested a date with French Tom don't reply to his email,. Brucie and Roman will bug you about the date but just ignore them.

All of Dwayne's missions can be ignored and the subsequent 'The Holland Play' mission.

15 hours and in the bag.

used alot of taxis, and skipped pretty much all the cut scenes, failed about 6 missions which i replayed out of lack of remembering to save after every completed mission.

This is the exact achievement I started working for awhile ago. I finished the game the first time, using the "Deal" ending and was dissapointed with the ending...this trophy inspired me to redo everything.

Tips:

1). Skip all phone conversations

2). Call friends to start missions sooner (if you wait, they will call you, but it will take longer)

3). Use a taxi whenever possible to get to places, and skip (cost shouldn't be an issue, but if it is, get out of the taxi upon arrival, force yourself to the front seat and runover the taxi driver---steal your money back).

4). Skip all cut scenes (These *do* count toward the timer).

(I may think of more down the road).

I did all this, and gladly got it. Just know that the achievement's timer times the hours of *play* time. Not the hours of "Niko control".

Skip as much as you can in general, that way, if you happen to fail mission(s), there is still plenty of time.

On average, you can finish the story line in 15-20 hours even with alittle messing around.

Good luck smile.gif

It's a pretty lenient time limit if you ask me, just don't do to many friend activities or anything. Use taxis, skip cutscenes. Maybe use body armour too because it will save your ass/time.

Banned, now stay the f*ck out

Yeah there is quite a bit of wiggle room, as long as you only do what you are supposed to, there shouldn't be any problem. You should still have enough time to get all the girlfriends which really makes things easy.
