Effy in Chains
Doesnt oled degrade over time? Wouldnt be surprised if vita screens look like a blurry washed out mess after 5 years. I've heard the organic materials degrade yes... But apparently OLED screens now have longer lifespans than LCD's, before reaching half-brightness. buzbegone
Yeah I know the controllers use Bluetooth, and in your house is still limited range. I was referring to actual long distances, not just 100 feet away or less. I suppose you could setup with your PS3 via a 3G network but it would be as laggy as f*ck. this could be the most pointless console of all time, even more so than the Gamecube! You again? Explain your argument or gtfo with that sh*t.

Kind of a silly statement one piece, everything, lcds and plasmas and led tva all degrade over time as well.
unopescio
My understanding is with oled it happens a lot faster. Im just putting it out there. my psp screen still looks great after 6 years, I wonder if the vita will be different.

TBH i would rather they'd just given the Vita a 5" version of the LCD screen from the PSP 3000, with brighter LED backlights.* *The 3000 used conventional backlights for it's LCD, right? At least then, there wouldn't be the damn black blotches on the screen!* *When very dark environments are displayed, while playing in the pitch dark, annoying for anyone who likes to play Vita in bed. *MURDOC*
You know what i thinks total BS? That the psvita in its couple months of existence, ALREADY has a facebook app. PS3 users have been asking for one since PS3 launched in 2007 since most people who use the for facebook have to use sonys crappy browser. How come vita has the app now, but PS3 still gets kicked in the face? Just use the mobile site, it works perfectly fine.

I'm pretty doubtful there'll be any splotches even in dark environments. Even if they did show up, they should be barely noticable. You know what i thinks total BS? Oled has better blacks than Lcd so I dunno what you mean. Onepiece I am sure the screen technology will last fine, otherwise it probably would not be used. ccrogers15
I still will get this, after a large drop in prices on the overpriced thing. The mem cards are also overpriced.
buzbegone
The mem cards are also overpriced. Sony have potential Vita buyers cornered in this. Basically every game needs a card, but only the new ones. c*nts... Some interesting pages I came upon which details things you can do with your Vita like take screenshots. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/02/24/...-favorite-tips/ http://dlb-network.com/2012/02/some-cool-v...dnt-know-about/ There are things in one article that you won't find in the other. I'll take a couple of snaps of VCS with those filters and post the results here in a bit. Edited March 8, 2012 by buzbegone

buzbegone
It's remote play, which isn't perfect yet. There's plenty of other videos so whether that video is real or not is irrelevant. Appears VCS is one of those games you can't take screenshots of which is a crock.

Seddo
GTA IV: Nice looking cutscene wLFe8bqDmzE 1:10-1:17 1:25-1:32 Something's fishy with this video I cant see it well cause im downloading and theres a lag, but its a remote play bug most likely. The initial loading screen looks alright but at the 25 second mark when the character loading screen kicks in and into the gameplay, then why does the screen go slanted and the picture doesn't fit the normal size of the PSP screen? you can see the space on the sides where it's not aligned properly. Anyway, not really been on my normal PSP much but depending on the games released for the Vita i may invest in it sometime down the line when the price has dropped. ccrogers15
Im 100% getting a vita, after the price goes down to a realistic price. Paying $250 for that and then have to buy a $30 memory card and $50 game... no not happening. Id rather stick with my PSP3000, theres loads of fun games on there. Mainly i play PSone classics, cause i love them, so PSP 3000 is fine, and i was immediately turned off when i heard the VITA will not support PSone classics. I do however love how PS3 and PSvita are region free. No other game systems are like that. So that means i can finally import games released exclusive in other countries. Like for instance on PS3, i imported Ratchet And Clank: Quest for booty, because it was released on disk only in Europe, and digital in USA. I wanted a disk. So i ordered and got it and added it to my ever growing library of Platform games, which is my fave genre. I grew up on those games, mainly i have Insomniac Games, Naughtydog, Krome and Sony to thank for my good childhood. Speaking of Insomniac, i got pissed yesterday, i found out there making there first multiplatform game. No just no. They should stick to the PS brand. While the video may be dodgy, GTA IV on the Vita can be done. Just wait for this 'Vita Heaven' later on if you're still unsure what to buy. It's nice one of these events appear at a watchable time for me rather than at 1 in the morning. Im 100% getting a vita, after the price goes down to a realistic price. Paying $250 for that and then have to buy a $30 memory card and $50 game... If you're going to buy a game, wait until something worth buying has come out. Uncharted is the highest selling game so far but it's far from perfect so there's a lot of room for improvement and games.

buzbegone
I'm a bit pissed that they don't just announce all these titles at once. Also, the videos are completely Japanese which is a bit f*cked up seeing as they should be appealing to the world. buzbegone
How long before Sony asks Samsung for a better OLED screen, without the display-problems in the dark? I'm guessing they'd update it for the next evolution of the Vita. It's really not a deal breaking imperfection. I have to buy me a PS Vita... just played it again at my friend's house, and its by far the best handheld ever! It is but there is sh*t all for worthy titles at the moment, no plans to introduce a UMD passport for the rest of us and no PS1 game compatibility as of yet. I had high hopes for the 'PS Vita Heaven'. They fell somewhat shy of the promised '70 game' mark when it came to revealing only 5 games. There was real opportunity for marketing there but nope. My hopes for the system at the moment... crushed like a ball of discarded, old candy

Ash_735
Dr. John, you're an idiot, I don't even know what you're comparing, are you comparing backwards compatibility? Released Games (3DS has had a very good handful of Months head start)? or Downloads (again, 3DS has had over like 8 Months head start). And you state here's a list of WORKING games, well, yeah, your list has 3DS games, OF COURSE THEY'RE GOING TO WORK ON THE 3DS, that's like saying Uncharted: Golden Abyss works on the Vita. edit: Actually, your post is THAT stupid, I almost think I've been trolled. ccrogers15
R* has already made three PSP games. I want for DS. GTA SAS would be good choice. Saw some sh*t in youtube. Is PSPVITA is supporting Mario games again?! Here's the list of working games in 3DS- PSPVITA seems to be outdated over 3DS. Of Course, Nintendo Company is much better than Play Station. XBOX will come in between. Did you HONESTLY just say the vita is outdated more then 3ds? First of all, its got way higher end hardware then that crap of plastic not 3d, 3ds. Second, its got tons more games coming from huge devs, just sony has yet to actually announce them. PSvita heaven only really showed Japan Only titles, nothing English, so were still in luck. Im just hoping we see some of sonys best exclusive titles come. I know Ratchet And Clanks leaked HD collection will hit it and PS3, due to Sly collection and Jak collections are being ported over to PSvita.
