Choosing Your color in Pay N' Spray

Recommended Posts

What sucks about the other GTA's is when you go inside Pay N' Spray you cant choose the color of your car. You have to keep driving back in and wasting alot of money just to find what color you want. In GTA V you should be able to choose the color of your car in Pay N' Spray.

In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas you could choose whatever colour you wanted for your car using the modding shops--so this idea has been done in the past Grand Theft Auto games, but it would be nice for it to see a return. Also, on the comment saying that "you would loose a whole lot of money for just to get the colour you want"--that is completely false, at least for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas at least because a car in mint condition costs nothing to be resprayed.

By the way, I sent in a report requesting this topic be moved for you. icon14.gif

NOT TRUE

the first time, your car gets repaired. if you drive right back in, your car is still 100 % alright!! no damage so they respray it for NO MONEY!!

still, takes some time maybe.

if I want my stallion in light blue, at least 2 days pass during respraying...no sh*t.

Yeah. I've suggested this before now in the Wishlist, here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?act=ST&...entry1060085371

This is what I said:

Simple, and probably been said countless times before:

Provide the ability to choose your own colour in the regular pay and sprays. Not the full range of customised colours a la the modding garages in SA. Just a choice of the standard colours for any given vehicle.

That way I don't have to spend half a day going in and out of the pay and spray to get it to cycle through the two dozen variations of grey and silver to get to the colour I want.

As an added twist, if you have a wanted level, but are daft enough to choose the same colour that your car presently sports, it repairs your car, but you don't lose the wanted level.

I also suggested it on the gtav.net/wishlist (Pay and Spray Enhancement)

My thinking is that in the Pay and Sprays, you only get a choice of any particular vehicles' REGULAR colours. But for any custom colours, you should go to a Modding Shop.

STR33TS of R3VOLUT1ON

That will be time-saving. But I see one gap, unfortunately, what if a person in free mode tries to stay in the garage. He dopes not choose a color, which results in the doors staying closed. This can be fixed by having 3 or more garages placed next to each other.

Also, a ModShop would be nice again. This time, every car should have a few different body kits and exclusive paint jobs with layers, which cost more money.

e.g.: a Blista Compact with modified bumpers, side skirts, spoilers, exhausts, tinted windows, head- and taillights, roof, suspension and more. But it would be best if these modifications did not affect the stats of the car, so a player can outfit their favourite car without ruining the speed, acceleration, handling, horsepower, torque, .... Having different paint jobs for the bumpers and all would also be nice.

One last thing, I know this is getting too far out of hand, modify service vehicles, like a cab or a police car. Imagine a Crown Victoria with a big badass spoiler, 4 exhausts, carbon hood, blue colored headlights, a grill...

the very last: the ability to use (Warning: off topic) the direction lights (Note: I am not native english, so I don't know if you get what i mean) on the car, giving signal before turning left or right.

I think, any time you go in WITHOUT a wanted level, you should get a drop down menu with colour choices.

I don't want to have to pick a colour when I'm just trying to escape as that would be silly.

That wouldn't matter surely? Once you're inside and the Pay 'n' Spray has accepted you in because the police haven't seen you enter, and the door is shut, you've made it. You're safe and urgency is no longer a factor. In single player mode the game would be paused while you're in the Pay 'n' Spray. You can pick your colour at your leisure thus eliminating your wanted level and you can leave whenever you wish. On exiting, the game resumes with 3 game hours having passed (i.e. same as in GTA:IV).

Good point about the multiplayer mode, but I don't think there's a need for multiple Pay 'n' Sprays next to each other. Besides, there's also the problem of players hiding in them and/or deliberately hogging them (thus preventing other players from using them).

I think all that's needed to get around that is, when in multiplayer, to either:

  1. Revert to how it does now, i.e. it just chooses the colour for you and spits you back out.
  2. Give the player a 10 second countdown to choose his own colour. If the countdown expires, it chooses a colour for you and once again spits you back out.

Yea what reform said tounge.gif And for a quick repair without wanted stars, just repair it with no colour change. If you go in with a near-fresh car then the colour options come in just like the modding garages of SA, with limited options.

Or possibly a single button press to continue as said above (and above), so that you can choose the paint colour options as an alternative to continueing any time without having to go out and in again, which would still get on our wick!

Or when you get in, the door closes and color menu pops up, no more police involved.

^You're right but in GTA IV I get bored of the default dull colors and I want something special, and It takes some time until I get it.

I believe I already said that, didn't I?

I just skipped reading your comment. ph34r.gif

Pay-n-spray has always been a getaway thing. It seems like the random color is the way to go here. Personally, I'd much rather see separate repair and tunning shops that let you pick a color, make other minor modifications to the car's looks, and if it's in the game, let you mod it.

That isn't the point though. If I'm just trying to escape the cops in freeplay or I'm in a mission, I would be frustrated by the intrusion as it takes you out of the moment.

Perhaps if there was a button you hold (like one of the shoulder buttons) as you go inside, then you get the colour options. If you don't press it as you enter, you just get a random colour like always. I think that would do the job, and please everyone.

+1 I prefer tradition be upheld here. God knows R* has already ditched enough GTA staples. I would prefer it if you could "dial in" a button combo when you enter, without a distracting screen. Every car could have "secret" colours this way.

Yeah this would ultimately be the best option.:

Transfender/Wheel Arch Angels/LocoLow - When you want to take your time tuning/modding your car with the right parts/color.

Pay 'n' Spray - When you just need a quick fix and removal of wanted level.

Definitely car customization In GTA V. I miss that feature from SA.

Me too. I SO want to get an Intruder or Lokus, put on a shiny black paintjob, improve the engine performance, Nice shiny rims. Turn an ordinary car into a Transporter-esque one tounge.gif
