Iminicus
Hey Firefox seems to be havin issues connecting to the servers from New Zealand. The same is true of Google Chrome. I've cleared my cache and sh*t but still nothing. This wasn't an issue before the site went offline for a couple days. At the moment I'm having to use my phone, which sucks. Any ideas on what I can do? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/468337-firefox/ Share on other sites
Ryan
Minus the clearing the cache part, have you tried all of these already? There are a few ways to speed this process up yourself:• If you put your computer to sleep instead of shutting it down, try restarting it and then start a new browser session. • Go to your browser options and clear your cache. • If you are behind a router, reboot it. • If you are on windows, open a command prompt and run the following command: ipconfig /flushdns • If all of the above fails, consider changing your name servers to OpenDNS. We manually force update all OpenDNS servers to show our new IPs as soon as we make DNS changes. Iminicus
Just trying a restart now. I've never had this problem before, even when I've put my computer to sleep. I'm thinking it could be because my Internet is worse than dial up at the moment. I'll try a router reboot if the restart on the computer doesn't work. Iminicus
Okay, I've done DNS flush 4 times. Rebooted my modem and router twice. Connected straight through my modem. Restarted my computer twice. Tried Firefox and Chrome mim about to try IE. Nothing is working. WTF is wrong? Hobbes27
Iminicus, I'm having the same exact problem. For some reason using a proxy to access the forums though worked? Iminicus
IE can't even locate the servers. WTF? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/468337-firefox/#findComment-1060311998 Share on other sites

Suction Testicle Man
If you're on Windows, open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> 'cmd') and type 'ping gtaforums.com'. On Mac/Linux type the same command into a terminal. If the IP you see returned in the output isn't 188.165.246.179, then the DNS servers you're using (probably configured in your router) have not updated their records. Give it a bit more time and they should eventually update. Alternatively reconfigure your router to use different DNS servers, such as OpenDNS (as quoted above) or something like Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). If you do get the correct IP shown, then I guess there's some weird browser stuff going on. The reason your phone works is most likely because you're not using Wifi from your home router (otherwise it would fail too), rather your phone connection, that uses different DNS servers configured by your phone network. Same goes for proxies - different DNS. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/468337-firefox/#findComment-1060312681 Share on other sites
