fireguy109
Uhh, yeah, you definitely need to add the col file with colleditor 2. LOD is no biggie. Make sure the number you assign it in the ide is not already being used, though. Node
okay...okay ill show you, doing this has i remember it, if you need further help. PM me PROGRAMS NEEDED: -- 3ds max and Kams scripts -- IMGTOOL 2.0 (or another img editor) -- TXD workshop -- Colleditor -- MED or KED INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Okay open your VC install in med, Find a building you want to put in GTA 3. 2. Extract it (you should have a txd, and a dff file.) 3. Open the extracted TXD file and in the bottom corner of TXDworkshop it will say "GTA VC " from the dropdown menu choose "GTA 3", click save and close the TXD. 4. Open 3DS max and import the extracted DFF, click H, select all. 4. Export the DFF, with GTA 3 selected. 5. Next Export the COL. click on collision mesh and click on your building. 6. Go into data> maps. and make a new folder (name it anything) 7. Now go into your GTA dir, and open GTA3.dat 8. Make new IPL,IDE and COL lines. (Make sure to link them to the folder you just created) 9. Add the COL file you created to the folder you just created. 10. In the folder you created make 2 new txt documents. 11. open 1 and add this (make changes according to your files): objs "id number" "DFF name", "TXD name", 1, 300, 0 end (i think its like that ) 12. Save it as you name but with the ending format as ".ide" 13. Open the other and add this (dont have to change anything) inst end 14. 12. Save it as you name but with the ending format as ".ipl" 15. Okay now go in MED or KED in gta 3 and add the building. it should show in game now. I am sure this will work, i may have made a couple of mistakes. Want more help ?? PM me. fireguy109
I think you said that backwards, he wants to put the gta3 building into VC. I just import into Zmodeler 1.07 and then export in VC format. Then you don't need fancy scripts or expensive program, zmod is free and works fine with buildings. joewinko
sorry to bump this old thread, but what if the mesh or object you want to put in GTA vice city isn't from any other game and is an object you created yourself in a 3d modeling program that you want to add to the map? what do you do then?
