Excuse me for liking open world games more than dumb shooters. Especially when it's the only 2011 game like this.

I don't like shooters, I like open world games. And Saints Row The Third is a piss poor excuse for one.

I recently played the co-op for the first time ever, and it sucked REAL hard! Why? I'll tell you why;

 

Me and a friend wanted to roam in a zombie infested Steelport so he invited me, I joined his game and none of us could enter the zombie cheat, so instead I left, he activated the cheat and then invited me. When I joined the zombies were DEACTIVATED and my partner's character was invisible even more annoying we couldn't get rid of the police noterity, everytime we lost it it somehow popped back up. There was nothing to do and therefore I left. Absolutely bollocks letdown of a game.

Maybe the game cases are finding out what horrible game is inside them, so there walking off at night and committing suicide.

Like from what I've seen it looks f*ckin awesome.. sure there's a little bit of silly things here or there, but it gives variety for all the different kind of gamers to come to one game.

do you have the game? If not, rent it and SR2 and you will find out why SR3 is a dissappointment.

People are saying that this game sucks, because they are comparing it to the previous part (which isn't strange and bad) and seeing that this part is much worse (which is strange and bad). Many options were cut out without any reasons and explanations, amny options were dumbed down and players aren't happy with final product.

Because they played and loved the previous game. That's why. If you played Saints Row 2, you would know how much of a disappointed this one is.

I know that game has its OMG/WTF/facepalm moments but still it brought me some fun.

Surely not so great game to replay it again and play it for years but for me it's a perfect fresh free roam game to play a few months while waiting for you-know-what-game 5.

YES.

Its only $20 on PSN, or used at places like gamestop its like $15 or lower. One of the coolest games ever! Beware: The PS3 version does not have trophies, and the PC version is watered down and horrible.

You probably one of those 5% lucky PC gamers who had a working SR2. On my PC it's an abortion.

All SR2 copies on PC were horrible. Same happened to the SR1 copy for PC, thats why Volition and THQ never released the PC version of the first saints row. The second, is like a disaster on PC. I would rather but off my left testicle and eat it then spend money on the PC copy of the game.

The only reason my PC can run it okay is because it's a fairly high end system; I'm essentially power-housing through the sh*tty code.

Is it an Intel i7 system with 12GB of RAM and a GTX 580? Because that's what I have to get mediocre/decent performance. I'm not defending the port; back when I had a 295 it was literally unplayable.

*removal of cool activites like hot fuzz and fight club. Some of the activities in SR3 are pretty much copies of each other (mayhem and tank myhem)

 

* lack of unique cribs(only three variations unlike SR2 which had 6 I believe)

 

*no mission replay feature

 

*Can't watch cutscenes whenever you want anymore

 

just to name some off the top of my head.

-No more use of taxi's for fast travel,

-Septic avenger(that one i didn't miss),

-VIP protection activities,

-Strongholds which was fully developed bussinesses like cat houses,meth labs etc replaced with bunch of gang members standing in the middle of nowhere with out any reason,

-Destruction Derby,

-variety of terraine was reduced to an averadge city again(no prison,university,underground cave...),

-no more calling specific numbers like Legal Lee etc,

-no more crib customisation,

-no clothings in layers and generaly less clothes options,

-no frecle bitc*es restaurant and no food for restoring the health,and no drinks and joints for intoxications,

-no "Forgive and Forget",

-no attempts of rival gangs to retake some territories,

-no entire player vs player multiplayer,only left coop,

-probably even more thing i can't remember right now.

Man,that's one impressive list!!?How could they pull this out?

Thanks. That's quite impressive list. I dunno if I'd miss these features if I played SR1,2 first.

 

Though it's still an OK game so I hope after some time all that bitchin about it will be gone. Just like with Mafia 2.

So I was looking for the last gang op yesterday, the one on the top of the building in loren square. Whille flying around in my helicopter looking for it I crashed into a building and glitched through the wall, there was an interior which I have never seen in the game before, unfortunately my helicopter blew up and I died before I could get a screen of it but it just seemed that there was a complete interior to a building that wasn't in the game at all, I didn't even recognise it form a cutscene. Perhaps it's another thing that has been cut out for a future dlc. I tried going back to it again but just kept crashing into the wall, it was the building directly behind the two large purple towers in fornt of the saints hq, I'll try to find pictures of the building I'm talking about.

On my old pc it was choppy. on my new one it runs great maxed out though, doesn't even slow down when driving fast. is there anything actually watered down though? Graphics are better. The only thing I don't like is how the steering is twitchy even with a 360 controller. I'm guessing that is how the game is supposed to be? SR3 (on xbox) is about the same twitchy-wise

This is the other flaws of the game:

 

1. The entire map is about the size of 1 SR2 island (very small, very tiny, you can drive outside the outer map in 5 minutes tops)

2. No jewerly stores (meaning no chains, no bling bling)

3. No crib customization (cannot customize your crib at all)

4. You can only purchase 2 different cribs (only 3 places to live in total)

5. Theres only %15 percent amount of stores that was in SR2 (not many stores)

6. Clothing options are not complex or advanced (SR2 you can choose weither buttoned or unbuttoned, Tie or no Tie)

7. Only about 15 to 40 different cars in the entire game (most cars are all high end, theres rarely any low end cars)

8. Car customization is only about %20 percent of what SR2 was like (cant get to detailed about customizing a car, not very many options)

9. Only 4 total side activities in total for the entire game (SR2 has almost about 30 to 40, SR3 only has 4)

10. %100 percent game completion can be done in 3 to 5 hours if played stright (on easy and normal difficulty)

11. %98 percent of the songs in the game are all underground and unknown (%2 percent are known artist but not the best choices)

12. Only about %50 percent of weapons then SR2 (yes theres weapons upgrade but not enough different weapons to upgrade)

13. You cannot grab items anymore (cant pickup and throw or use to beat up people with items anymore, Its gone)

14. All DLC is already on disk. There cheating us. A user on PC enabled all the DLC by replacing codes, and he already has the "upcoming" DLC.

 

 

I LOVED SR1 and SR2, but this game is HORRIBLE. It needs recalled. The series is about GANGSTERS and STREET GANGS. Not preppy celebrities who somehow can pay there way out of police custody and can not be tracked by the feds for blowing up a skyscraper....

And how is this a flaw? It's a plus. Since 2004 I heard "satisfaction" hundreds of times. The last thing I need is having this track in a game. Especially when it doesn't fit to game. Same with any other known track.

Actually I thought otherwise - that 80% music in SR3 is well-known, mainstream.
