For those of you who have beat the game already:

About the ending... I can't believe Wei was let off so easy. I mean yeah he kind of helped the Triad out in a big way by taking out "Big Smile" Lee but still, HE WAS A COP. It doesn't even matter that the new boss, Jiang said he was to be left alone. Maybe the more loyal higher-ups would listen to her but I think at some point some low level gangster with nothing to lose would still make a move to waste Wei Shen for just being a cop and lying about it. Maybe that can still be a possibility in a sequel. I was just expecting a much bigger ending to the story because of the way it builds and builds. Other than that...

 

I just want to say, though, that I really liked the game overall. The story, the kung fu, the occasional odd yet fun karaoke game, everything about the game was very well done. It's great that all the hard work the developers put into it wasn't wasted because Activision decided to jump ship. I have a feeling we might be seeing more Sleeping Dogs games in the future.

I think I made some comments a page or two ago.

 

Personally, Wei should have ended the game as a hollow broken man, who's betrayed and been betrayed by almost everyone who was ever close to him. Would have been a great bittersweet ending.

Dude, it is possible. Some games allow you to listen to music from your hard drive. SD is one of them. Along with Midnight Club LA, ModNation Racers, GT5, Burnout Paradise, LittleBigPlanet series, and some more.

 

Are anyone else's Central stairs f*cked up?

 

Whenever I walk down them, (or up) Wei doesn't change animation and it looks horrible.

 

And content was definately 100% cut. TC:HK cop missions were removed for DLC, and the silly fools even left some of the icons in the map legend, most notably "Undercover Safehouse".

 

Can't they be sued for false advertising? Because they said that no content was cut but the proof is right there.

I'm saving my money then, i'm going to buy the complete edition if it ever came out though, i would rather spend my hard earned money on Darksiders 2 at least i know it will be worth it.

I am calm. The thing is, even if I was asking a question, you were simply posting something not true.

 

So here's the story: I know it with other games, GTA IV, Max Payne 3, etc. that if you push the PS Button and want to select music from your hard drive to play it, it quits the game.

NOT with Sleeping Dogs though, TRY IT. You can play music from your PS3 harddrive and the game continues. Period.

Well people class "story DLC" as "extra missions" so for most people, SWAT pack adds to the story.

 

Still, they are lying bastards.

All of the moderation staff are like "nu content wus cert i promes u" but the list of proof is right here.

 

- Dan Sochan promised boat races would be in the game, in an early gameplay video.

- When the game was True Crime: Hong Kong, SWAT missions with hostage situations and sniper rifles was promised.

- Undercover Safehouse was left in the map legend.

 

 

Sleeping Dogs has faced the same fate as SR3... Not many people even play it, same as SR3. And their fail attempt at DLC doesn't make the game last longer, it just drives people away from it.

I really can't afford to buy any game that is more than $20 at the moment. So I assumed it would be a very long time before I could play this game. But it doesn't seem so, every retailer in my area dropped the price of this game from $59.99 to $49.99. (at first I thought it was a sale at Walmart, so I checked Kmart and Gamestop, and they both had the same price tag.)

 

Crossing my fingers for another price drop or two in the coming months.

its true you do not need DLCs to enjoy the main game. i had loads of fun enjoying it and i even completed to 100% just because of how fun it is, but, once you get 100% then what? there is no multiplayer or co op to extend the length, so the only thing left is to buy story DLCs that would hopefully add 1 or 2 more hours into the game.

I'm rounding up the last couple trophies and I'm ready to do the Slap in the Face one. Is there any way I can get a fish without having to do the club bam bam mission again?

Or, is there a way to select that single mission to redo? I don;'t want to have to start the story from the start again.

 

I know that at the end of each mission it gives you a score, so I was kind of thinkint that there'd be a menu somewhere where I could redo single missions like in BoGT...

It's in the Social Hub, under Missions. Or, you could just smash the tank in Bam Bam, get a fish, and go to the nearest lockbox.

^ I got eventually but there's no way to just walk in there and smash the aquarium at bam bam. I had to redo that mission. And was a bit frustrating because the fish would disappear pretty quickly. If I missed a counter move and dropped the fish I had to restart from checkpoint.

 

Now just the Silver stat and Gold stat trophies to do. Wish I'd paid a bit more attention to the stat challenges while doing the story. I could've spaced the stat stuff out a bit more. There's a few I didn't do at all - like blind-fire kills and free-running kills.

dayum 20 new cop missions? i might buy these. bookmarked the page. im not interested in tactical soldier pack though, but street racer and swat pack does seem interesting

I think the community gift dlc requires you to have a sleeping dogs forum account or something
