Moth
Ohh, rumours flying around that Activision are pissed off, Guitar Hero has been axed and True Crime: Hong Kong has been canceled despite being so far in development. Yeah I heard that too. I hope it isn't true about True Crime, but then again it is Activision. Plus it seems it is a waste of money having game pretty close to completion and then cancelling it. Maybe Activision thinks it really only needs COD and whatever Blizzard makes, since they both sell. Formerly known as The General
Sunrise Driver
That's not rumors, that's f*ckING official. Stupid Activision I hate you asspunks I hope you go bankrupt soon. Kotick you piece of sh*t if you f*cking love the money why can't you just sell the studio and rights to a much much better publisher?
d0mm2k8
Plus it seems it is a waste of money having game pretty close to completion and then cancelling it. Reminds me of Interplay. Who in their right mind would cancel a near finished Van Buren for Brotherhood of Steel 2? Which also reminds me that I hope they don't get the rights to Fallout back; Bethesda need better lawyers. Guitar Hero has been axed About time I suppose.
tubbs51
f*cking activision... GH sucked but TC HK was gonna be amazing... well hopefully a publisher buys the rights to the game from Kotick and they pull a Duke Nukem Forever except in shorter time
Gantons Most Wanted
I played the first game back in 2002-03 whenever it came but as great as the storyline, characters and soundtrack. I found it had little replay value once completed.

Creed Bratton
They think they can live off CoD fine by me. Their company is obviously not about the games. They already closed a lot of studios and now they're canceling games that people were actually looking forward too. And they keep releasing new CoD every year. They wont see a penny from me ever again. If you have some dignity you wont buy another one of their lousy products no matter which studio is behind them. Don't let those assholes dictate the industry. Edited February 9, 2011 by GTAvanja
EvilDynasty
I like call of duty BUT GOD DAMN True Crime HK was gonna be so cool..... i hope some other company buys it from them http://n4g.com/news/697312/activision-kill...-been-cancelled http://n4g.com/news/697391/confirmed-guita...on-call-of-duty

Mister Pink
I actually can't believe this sh*t. The game looked f*cking finished. Me too I just read a preview and the game is practically finished. They said they were greatful for the delay to ploish the game more but they basically said it was finished and they were adding detail etc. I'm freaked. Rebel
The f*ck? I just read it in another topic and came to check if it was true or not. Why even bother with the f*cking delay if they even had a slight hint that they weren't going to push it out? Big mistake since it really sounded like a decent game. Omnia sunt Communia
I honestly can't believe this. True Crime: Hong Kong was one of the only games I've been looking forward to. I don't even own a games console and I was looking forward to it! Something to fill the gap between GTA IV and whatever comes next. Damn you Activision. Damn you straight to hell. silentsharklol
I can't f*cking believe this... I really hope Activsion are sh*tting us because this is just crap. I like GH, And I wanted True Crime:HK so badly! I have half a mind not to ever buy another game associated with Activision again (Including MW3)

Long Haired Freaky Guy
I don't understand much when it comes to publishing games and what-not, but could this game actually be now taken on by another company and released under their name, or would it cause too much trouble with who gets rights to it and what-not? G The Generous
LOL!! Capricornus
Just went on IGN and read about the axing of Guitar Hero (which I never played) and the cancellation of True Crime: Hong Kong. Sucks balls man. I think TCHK would have actually done pretty well on the market, especially when there is no new GTA being released this year. Ah well, guess this topic will now be about what could have been. Damn.

Sunrise Driver
are there're other games set in hong kong / mainland china? Army of Two 40th Day and Kane & Lynch 2 set in Shanghai. Stranglehold in Hong Kong. But these titles are TPSs.
arsenal_fan
What? I seriously don't understand why they go through all this trouble and the game looks as though it's nearly finished, why waste that much money and time and just cancel it? Sunrise Driver
TRUE CRIME: We are sorry we did not get a chance to complete this project with Activision, but we understand why. We are both committed to doing quality games and nothing less. Maybe we will have a chance to work together in the future, but in the meantime we are setting our creative sights on a different horizon. You can keep up with the latest developments at UFG here on our site. True Crime seemed like quality title. Why can't they just change the title and names and release this game with someone else? Fedor Emelianenko
True Crime seemed like quality title. Why can't they just change the title and names and release this game with someone else?I think they might be able to, I am not 100% sure though, anyway check out the quote below. "Contrary to reports although Activision is canceling their in-development game with United Front, True Crime: Hong Kong, they’re not closing down the developers doors… simply because they don’t own them." Darrel
What a waste. So just because Black ops is the fastest selling video game they think they can cancel games at will. I hope the next Call of duty falls on its face. Sick of the fuss of that franchise anyway.
