Yea Joseph have been told it will be an awesome video, gameplay and all. Also did you check out the other gameplay they have showed to date, the undercover video showed parts of gameplay.

Also driving on the left hand side will be awesome and different which will be a good change, the new location from other open world games will be great too because I have never been to HK.

This might sound a bit weird, but i will pretty much only buy this game if the car physics are semi realistic, like GTA and if the game feels like an open world game and has a good blend of realism and fun.

Sounds like you be buying it as guys at United front are from Rockstar, need for speed guys and batman guys, all the previews have stated driving is done very well. Plus having a setting in Hong Kong takes guts and balls somerhing brand new in open world. Will be like nothing done before.

The new trailer managed to rekindle some of my excitement for this game. I love the setting. It looks full of activity and atmosphere, and those gorgeous graphics help make it look all the more stunning. I was expecting the map to be much larger, though it is still of a reasonable size. Yeah, I'm quite looking forward to this game.

Yea sir, the game is something developers have been afraid to do in open world and that is Hong Kong, now I dont know why but this setting is going to be great for us gamers. It has the markets, vendors, street fairs going on, it has Victoria Peak, it has water surrounded by the island, it has crime, it has you playing as undercover cop, you being able to do races, cockfighting, buying penthouses, decorating them, having clothes stores all over, doing favors for random npc's.

wait, it's going to have all of that? okay, this game does have my attention now. I'm so glad this is coming out this year because I'm really not looking forward to anything else right now.

I just want decent driving physics for a game that will have you driving a lot.

 

The cars look pretty amazing, i think it said their over 65 vehicles in the game in the trailer? Not sure what to think of that, sounds a little low but could mean much better traffic, better variety of cars on road etc...

I did not really get to see the physics much, just cars going in a straight line, did not show if turning in a car will be more like GTA or saints row.

 

Either way the graphics look stunning and i am still very interested in the game!

 

If the game is modifiable ( and if the PC version will be optimised) then i will defiantly mod that gun sound, sounds very crap

Also guys the makers UnitedFrontGame have guys that worked at R* Vancouver, guys that worked on Need for Speed, and also have been told by someone that tested the game that the driving is top notch.

Aw man. So glad we're gonna drive Euro and Jap cars and not the US ones we have to drive all the time in GTA. I love the idea of getting crappy small cars like a Peugot 206 and suping them up to f*ck.

Awesome trailer that was. I wish people would stop comparing this to GTA though. Really loving the art style of the game. Like a classic gritty Chinese crime film.

The driving physics look a little iffy to me. GTA IV and Mafia II set the benchmark in that area as far as I'm concerned. If a game doesn't at least achieve those levels then I have little time for it.

Guys, please don't be too hasty. We know just a little about the game and some people are already ready to give it GoTY title.

 

Don't forget that SD is produced by UFG, which made one only game (Modnation Racers, which wasn't bad for Mario Kart clone, but it was also quite far from being briliant, suffering from long loading times, average AI and dodgy framerate). SD is just second game for them and despite how much enthusiasm they got, they may just not have enough power, resources or knowledge for deliver great game.

 

These screens look okay, but they far from GTA IV level, which let me remind you was published 4 years ago. Cars are closer to SRTT, which isn't bad, but isn't good either. 65 types of vehicles also isn't very overwhelming number. Sounds, especially these made by weapons sound tacky and flat. Hong Kong looks good on other hand.

 

Thinking like you guys do can lead you to big dissapointment, when the game will finally be published, so you may ease off a little. Don't forget that games like True Crime, Mafia II or SRTT were also adverised as revelations, games of the year, games that gonna revolutionize genre, et cetera. We all know what happened...

Like Tycek mentions, I've been taking this precaution with most games now. I dead excited for this game but I'm gonna try play it cool until I actually play it. Same for Max Payne 3.

i disagree with Tycek, Sleeping Dogs looks a lot better then GTA IV, looks newer / funner etc, i do share the concerns other members have when it comes to driving physics, but it still looks superior to GTA IV.

Its okay to be caustious about any game we spend our money on, but if you love open world, rhen its the game for you to try at least. You realize Sq is helping out with making the game also not only publishing, they have top guys over theere. i mean how would anyone not be excited to be able to jump climb

vault over everyrhing, jump frim bike to car on highway. i have seen the gams and will play it at pax next week, it will be playable, plus everyone that played it has positive thungs to say which is goid for us gamers we havent had an open world crime game since 2010 just cause, which was awesome, i am not picky the driving was off but i loved the open world of jc2, you know games with driving vehicles etc etc open world game. I am super excited because i appreciate open world games, and to play on foreign land driving on the left, being undercover that is awesome. i dont compare games i enjoy games that i like. some say graphics this and that just enjoy it, the reviews have states the city is so alive and graphically very nice i take them for there word.

 

Yes it is a mix of gta batman just cause 2 max payne as it has slow mo also, this is our game to enjoy

Stunts in the game, buying all sorts of clothes, cockfighting, racing, karoake, gambling i read, penthouses and dingy apartments to buy in beginning, decorating them, npcs to do favors for, all sorts of vehicles so its 100 but rather have quality, that sports cop car is epic, scooters, speed boats, lambo's, in

The walking and bumping into people looks well done. if this is a good appetizer until GtaV then better for me, i will soak in Hong Kong.

If you do play it, could you report back on the driving physics?

 

Such as if its more like IV or just cause?

 

Mainly focus on acceleration/braking and the turning. To me, and a few others here, is a very important part of the game and can make or break the game.

Well, LOL, mate IV was not really all that realistic and was really really fun, fi you knew how to drive.

 

I don't want them to be IV, i can play IV for that. I just want them to be more similar to that style than JC where the vehicles felt like sh*t something they rushed. No difference between each cars.

Sounds awesome to me Tycek ty much, although I also enjoyed just cause 2 it really wasn't a game for driving, but non the less i have faith because of the fact that the team that is assembled from SQ and UnitedFront, plus the video from yesterday, i felt a sense of speed when watching the cars roaring past each other. Fun is good and def what is needed.

I'm glad that,another company took it and called it Sleeping Dogs. I've seen some game conferences on it but,after its release I wanna see a couple of game play videos and a rating before I buy it.
