I might get this game. I said MIGHT though. I dont trust any game that is true crime after those trash games made by remedy before this, and even though this is called sleeping dogs, it dont matter, its still true crime 3.

What do you mean? The only thing that TC SOLA & TC SONY share with what was True Crime 3 was the name of the franchise. It's a completely different developer with completely new ideas and I imagine a hell of a lot more experience, so whats your point? Are you going to judge a game on something as stupid as that? I'd at least wait for some proper extended gameplay footage before I'd start making judgements like that...

Watch some videos. Much better than even Saints Row games and surely previous TC games.

The hands on previews from GDC were very much positive, like how you can grab an npc as a shield, and throw them into an air conditioner chute, or garbage can, or over the balcony.

The map was just revealed in the trailer on the front page. Skip to the 3:47 marker and there is a shot of the map with the four neighborhoods, North Point, Central Hong Kong, Kennedy Town, and Aberdeen. The map looks awesome but look at the traffic on the streets during 4:10 marker, this is awesome, and driving on the left hand side is gonna be a blast. This is a true open world and 2012 sleeper of the year. 4:02 is that a Lamborghini, nice.

 

Mini games such as cockfighting, racing, and you can purchuse clothes at the stores as seen in the video towards the end, also the director stated that you can do favors, roam the city, and do what you want, this is a true masterpiece of open world. Cant wait.

All of the control's are basically the same as IV, which in this case, is a good thing.

I don't like these controls. Similarity to GTA IV is good thing, because it's good way to learn from the best, but some of the button actions are showing some cons of the game. Cycle objectives button under L3 means we can't crouch, it looks like we won't be able to change camera and why do we need both drop and pickup buttons? Aim during driving and directional ram buttons show that driving will be arcadish like in previous TCs, which can be simply outdated and feel odd these days. Also Action Hijack? Similarity to stealing cars from SRTT where you could jump thru window crashing it every time?

The exact release date havent been revealed yet.. but they said its set to be released on Q3 2012 (July 1 - sept 31)

I really like the art direction of the game. The visuals look vibrant, and the city looks to have depth from the distance. The rain looks beautiful in the scene with the car driving fast. I like these atmospheric stuff in games, it's really one of the main factors that brings me to buy them. No wonder Rockstar has brought me to get every game they publish!

controls look awesome, gotta love the ram option when driving. imagine the favors that the npcs are gonna give us.

This game might revive fun action in a realistic looking environment like San Andreas. I mean, shooting the cars and they flip and explode is unrealistic but I bet its fun and cinematic but set in a real-world environment.

 

Hopefully it will be beacon of hope that not everything has to be too realistic.
