Every game gets old in terms of graphics. The hits from the past fall into oblivion for various reasons,

but undoubtedly the most significant of them is poor -as for our times- graphic quality.

GTA Vice City is presently a collection of blatant textures and models,

which certainly don't make the game more enjoyable.

Vice Cry is a modification that aims to prolong the life of the game,

and to make one of the best parts of the GTA series more entertaining to play.

 

 

 

 

Changes:

 

- specially modified gta-vc.exe for Vice Cry,

- new roads: 99%~100%,

- new sidewalks: 99%~100%,

- changed 100% vegetation (100% with flowerpots),

- LOD system for palms,

- 3D grass,

- a slew of new textures in HD (1024x1024), like:

concrete, ground, rocks, metal, wood, buildings, walls, water, doors, etc.

- marsh vegetation,

- new vehicles (Xbox Vehicles Mod),

- new effects (modified particle.txd),

- radar HQ and weapons in HUD HQ,

- tropical island,

- remodeled some skycrapers,

- remodeled pickups,

- new particle effects,

- modified traffic lights,

- repaired a lot of texture mapping,

- reapired bugs in .IDE,

- a lot of modified models,

- TRAILS - new option in graphic settings.

- modified font (2048x2048),

- modified loadscreens

Thanks for opinions (and cookies XD) - they are very important for me smile.gif. Of course I'm going to release v.1.6 in february. I've got many plans what to do and put in the Vice City. 3D grass was a big problem when I decided to place it in the city - but now I've got a good script for 3ds max and I can work faster alien.gif .

For instance, you can take ENB and make some magic with it. Just don't ruin the original Vice City atmosphere.

Right now you made a really great work, keep going it that way, and perhaps we will play the mod everyone dreamed about - good ol' Vice with awesome graphics.

There is no problem when I put only the new texture and model in my GTA3.img, but, when I put the new folder "map" the game crashes to.

Try to run game in 3 steps:

1. Copy this folders into "maps":

hcg_grass

hcg_grass2

hcg_grass3

hcg_grass_2

plants

p125xr

wentylacja

 

Run Game

 

2. Copy generic.IDE into "maps"

 

Run Game

 

3. Copy all rest.

 

Run Game

 

 

BTW - have you tried to play without 3D grass?

Do you use HardCore Graphic v0.4.5 files or is there are your own project now ?

I'm one of the authors of HCG. In HCG 0.4.5 you can see elements of Project 125xr v.1.3. I left the HCG project and now I work on my own tounge.gif .

I have tested steps by steps and for me it's gta-vc.dat the problem. confused.gif

 

Edit : It's okay ! In fact, I don't know for what but Winrar did not extract properly all the files...

Small mod update:

What should we see in v.1.6:

 

- new weapons from Far Cry (100% sure). Maybe I'll convert some guns from Crysis.

- new weapon sounds

- more and more textures

- some new objects (I don't know what exactly yet)

- of course more 3D grass tounge2.gif

 

List of the future changes can be changed.

Hey, this looks great but it's a shame that it requires a modded .exe and additional .col files... A simple retexture would have been good enough, imo.

 

Could you please make a version that doesn't change gta-vc.dat? And/or release 3d grass separately? turn.gif

It's not "simple retexture" mod.

Without modified .exe, .col files and gta-vc.dat there will be no palms, grass and modified models.

I will not release separately 3ds grass for VC.

Vice Cry is back on GTAForums!

 

First post updated after... a year.

 

 

@lonestar55 - Vice Cry doesn't like ENB (too much problems with it). We don't have any ENB settings for our mod.

Some people asked me about the new patch for Vice Cry - 1.7.1 has still some little bugs, so I decided to release 1.7.2 just after the maturity exams in may.

New version will be avalaible soon - patch is waiting for authorization on ModDB (meanwhile you can watch a boring presentation video above).

CHANGES:

- fixed occasional crash near Malibu Club - collision repaired,

- fixed hidden package issue near the Hulk Hogan - collision repaired,

- corrected some graphic details

This is a Polish translation of GTA Vice City specially created to work with Vice Cry (HD Font).

The author of translated texts is Cenega.

It works on each version of Vice Cry.

 

 

@Victor_Knight - sorry, but it's impossible.
