Multi-platform online gaming

Do you guys think Multi-Platform online gaming would be great? I would love for Xbox and PS and even PC to combine, although if i were playing shooters with pc guys i would definitely hook up a mouse.

 

There would always be loads of people online, servers would probably be better, and you would have a huge variety of gamers.

 

Do you think it is a good idea?

Didn't they trial this and PC gamers were always leaps and bounds ahead of console gamers?

 

Regardless, I'd love to see cross platforming between Xbox and PS3.

I would love to see it happen but I doubt it ever will. The effort involved to make it happen far outweighs the gain.

I would love this to happen

The in game lobbies on call of duty would be filled with the sounds of fan boy rage blaring out of the speakers of your TV!

But saying that, there are 360 gamers that would own PS3 gamers.

And there are PS3 gamers that would own 360 gamers.

Being a console gamer and getting your ass handed to you constantly by PC gamers would suck.

 

Being a PC gamer and serving console gamers assess to them would be fun bet tiring after awhile at the lack of challenge.

I can see that happening. Regular Mp for everyone, cross-platform for Play Station Plus only.

If I remember right, Microsoft tested this idea with a few bigger name titles and the Console pros (MLGlol) got their asses handed to them so immensely by average PC gamers that it would have reflected so badly on the quality of their system that they decided against it.

 

That said, I wish they did it with GoW, so I'd actually have a legitimate reason to buy it for the PC other than the story.

But yeah, in any reaction based game, the first being FPS, consoles would get raped so hard it would be hilarious. I would buy any FPS on the PC in a heartbeat for the sheer satisfaction. No matter the quality or price.

Your wish is Valve's command Portal 2 will feature crossplay between PS3 and PC users. There won't be any crossplay with Xbox users because Microsoft act like Gollum when it comes to their f*cking xbox live network.

 

 

the PS3 version will support cross platform play with PC and Mac users, where players will be able to play together, chat etc. Furthermore, owners of Portal 2 for PS3 will get a free voucher for the game on Steam, if they link their PSN and Steam accounts. Not a bad deal.

I think it has been proven before and common sense supports the statement aswell.

 

I think it all depends on the ammount of will from the 'main platform owners' and/or the effortdevelopers put into it.
