Hey people, I imagine this thread will be forgotten in minutes, but does anyone play any of the SoR games anymore? I downloaded a Sega emulator and Streets of Rage 3, and I think it's one of the hardest games I have ever played, even on normal. The enemies are alot more responsive, Shiva is a bastard, your attacks seem weaker, absoloutely loving it. I also play the remake, but it's practically impossible to complete. You have to defeat Super Shiva in 90 seconds (I think it's 90?), but before you go against him, you have to defeat a number of enemies in an elevator, which takes at least 20/30 seconds.

Favourite game/enemies/characters etc?

Thanks to SoR and my wife, I never got a chance to ever touch our sega genesis.

I ran into something interesting this week. There is a top of the line fan made(8 years of work) version of SoR out now that is getting great response.

Yes, such to the point where the team that spent 8yrs of their lives working on this got a notice from SEGA. And not a nice notice.

This wonderful project is no more. SEGA brought down the hammer today and after 8yrs and only a few days of the final release being available - it is no more.

SEGA claims they need to protect their IP. Sure, I understand that, but I also understand that the team who did the remake was in contact with SEGA early on. SEGA was aware of the project during the first year. You think they could have told them not to waste their time since SoR is their protected IP. So they let them waste 8yrs of their lives only to tell them to stop what they are doing 1 day before SEGA releases SoR for the iPhone. Dickheads.

This is still fresh and starting to generate some buzz, which will get the team noticed. I hope to hell they land some sweet jobs with quality development houses after all this.
