Corrupted graphics

Recommended Posts

I have GTA 4 with the 1.0.4.0 patch, running on Windows 7 Ultimate x86.

Processor: Intel Celeron M550 2.00 GHz

RAM: 2 GB, DDR2

Graphics card: Integrated, Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family with 384 MBytes of memory

Yeah, I know - it's just a pathetic laptop. Everything runs incredibly smooth, but every graphic after the game is started & loaded is a corrupted mess. The original image is distorted by a factor of 9000, and everything looks like a TV is broken.

My graphics card sure isn't dying - if it's something that isn't supported, would you tell me exactly why so I can go 'hunting' for a better graphics card? (for my desktop, that is - since it's worse there :3).

I wonder what may cause the problem. In the first five seconds of cutscenes, everything looked alright - now even that part is corrupted. What's wrong?

Ignore my signature and everything, please. I have changed a lot in time, and I'm going to make another account, anyway. All I'm here for at the moment is some help, not flames.

That computer does NOT meet the minimum specs to play the game, the game REQUIRES at least an AMD Athlon X2 64 Dual Core w/ at least 2.4 GHZ/Intel Core 2 Duo w/ at least a 1.8GHZ processor(You have an Intel Celeron, which is a Single core processor), For Windows Vista and 7, you need at least 2.5GB of RAM(you only have 2GB and that is not all usable by games, you have an Intel Video card(those are NOT supported by the game), the game requires at least an Nvidia 7900 or better/ATI Radeon X1900 or better with at least 256mb dedicated vram. Intel card have shared vram, which means even though you have 384 MB vram, not all that is dedicated to use for games and other programs. If you had read the Pinned "Can I run it..." topic, you would have seen that you did not meet minimum before you bought the game. On the video card though, even though the minimum says 256mb vram, the game does not tend to run very good on less the 512mb dedicated vram...

Since you are on a laptop, you are out of luck, since the only thing you can upgrade on a laptop are the RAM and Hard drive(but the hard drive is not the problem here, it was put in for the facts of what you can vs. what you cannot upgrade on laptops), as the rest of the stuff-Processor, Video card, etc. are soldered into the mother board.

I know, but many people have run the game at an acceptable speed on single-core processors.

I have multiple PCs, and I can just upgrade one of my desktop PCs. All I needed to know was that Intel video cards are not supported.

Thank you, sir, and have a nice day.
