Batch texture converting

Recommended Posts

I need to convert some TXD files from GTA III to San Andreas, meaning I must turn all the textures inside from 8bit to 32bit. There are a lot of textures in this TXD and I was wondering if there was a quick way to turn them all to 32 bit format without inserting them all over again.

That's exactly what he don't want to do.

Yeah I already know how to do it that way, but I was wondering if there was a quicker way to do them all at once as there are a LOT of textures in this file. If there isn't a way around it though I guess I'll just have to do them all one by one bored.gif

Quick question,

Once the images are compressed inside of the txd has the information on those images been lost for good? Or if I extract them will they be in their original lossless format?

Also, has anyone found a way to do what the OP asked? I'd like to batch extract images from every txd and have the images saved in their own folders.

***edit ok i figured it out.

To batch extract texture images just put code like this in a batch file. And make a line for each txd. I used excel utilities to create file names for every file in the folders, so it's just quick copy paste. Make sure the batch file is in the txdworkshop directory.

txdworkshop /extract J:\copies\airport\airgrndb.txd

txdworkshop /extract J:\copies\airport\airport.txd

txdworkshop /extract J:\copies\airport\airstuff2.txd

txdworkshop /extract J:\copies\airport\ap_airstuff1.txd

where "J:\copies\airport" is the location of your txd

Anybody know how to batch import? I've also run into a predicament. I replaced more than 80% of the textures in the game using tga files, but no program will even allow me to manually import more than one at a time. G-TXD does but it doesn't read the alpha channel unless you have them separated.

Come on I know somebody knows something. smile.gif

Alright well I'm clueless on this one. I have a near fully redesigned Vice City, all HD textures, if anyone can help me with this I'd be happy to share the result. Some of the textures I have downloaded and reused, and much more of them are my own additions.

All my textures are in TGAs and they need to be batch imported or at the least be able to add them all to one .txd at a time. Batch would be nice, but for a one time thing I would do all 825 txd's individually if I had to. There's no way in the world I'm going to add all 10,000+ images individually though.

Or even if there is a way to just program the game to use the images directly from the folders without using txds I would do that too, for now.
