DC Universe Online is a console MMORPG based in the DC Universe. I personally think that this is will fail because I've seen gameplay etc and it doesn't look like it's going to last at least as a subscription based MMORPG. Whats your take on it?

Edit- I think the PS3 version might fail while the PC version might have a chance

Console based MMORPG?...

...Wait, so like WoW, but you also have to pay 60 bucks a year to be able to get online to be able to pay an extra fee to be able to play?

Oh man fu*k this sh*t.

PS3 version should be fine, though. Their online is free.

There should be some sort of waiver (is there?) for this game and the 360 version. After all, you're paying the games creators to play on their servers. You know, I'm sure something like that will happen.

I mean, any other way and Microsoft is just raping us.

DC Universe is a PC and PS3 exclusive btw. For a 180 day subscription in Aus you pay $99.99 while Wow is cheaper if I'm right and offers a lot more. From my sources the communication in this game is appalling because no one talks which is bad for raids etc

Even if it were on 360 there is no way there would be a waiver, for that to happen they would have to make a deal with Microsoft, which is not going to happen because they are greedy bastards.

Possibly why it is not on the 360, sucks to be you, you are definitely missing out on paying $200 bucks a year for a hunk of crap, i feel sorry for you xbox users sad.gif.

To be honest I was expecting people to disagree with me tounge.gif Tomorrow I'll put some gameplay of DCU here to show how low budget it really looks. From my videos I've seen it looks like a PS2 era game. I'd be curios to hear from some beta testers or the people who brought it

I honestly didn't think it looked that bad, I've played the beta over at a friends (he's a playstation plus subscriber) and I wouldn't say it looks like a PS2 gen game graphically, the combat is a bit slow, but the areas in the game like Gotham are huge, plus there was a decent amount of people actually playing it as it should be played. The only problem is with it is the prices, over here it's £9.99 for a 30 day subscription, though you do get the first month free, I've seen on a lot of other forums people mentioning it would be better with micro transactions rather than being sub-based.

Micro transactions never work.

APB did a retarded version of it and look how that turned out.

I YouTubed a video yesterday because it was on the front of Steam when I logged in. The game looked like it had been out for years and was only just getting popular? Then I saw it had only been out for a short time.

It looks crap.

I've played the beta and I think the core gameplay mechanics are very good, but everything else is just average such as the way missions/quests are implemented, PvP, etc..

It's a fun game, not worth a subscription though. I'll put money on it turning f2p with a cash shop.

Also, epic combo.
