Just came across this earlier.. interesting to say the least.

Discussions or opinions? kind of made me go catspider.gif I've read that somewhere along the lines of 24,000 people work there, this would mean that roughly 20% of the employees at the pentagon are somehow involved with child porn monocle.gif

Good/bad, important/doesn't matter?

How the hell do you "purchase" child porn? And how do they define child pornography?

if it's true, and these people are buying footage or photos of 6 your old kids getting screwed, then it kind of makes me sick. Also makes me wonder how many people in the country are doing it, if such a large percentage of government workers are doing it so brazenly.

Child porn is apparently readily available and rampant on the Internet, despite this it remains the only thing I have not encountered on the internet. I credit avoiding 4chan. Sure enough important people are always there with impossible amounts of child porn on their hard drives to remind us of the threat. 20% of people, in the Pentagon of all places, purchasing child porn seems far-fetched.

You got it wrong man, they havent checked 1700 people but it may very well be just a few people spreading child porn in the pentagon... next dozingoff.gif

Child pornography laws in United States are f*cked up. They need to go. It's not that I think there shouldn't be laws against. It's that I think the laws should be designed to actually protect children. They are not. The laws are currently designed to bust the maximum number of end-users of child pornography, who aren't actually harming anyone in their majority. And the fear of getting busted for child pornography makes it very difficult to actually located people responsible for it. People who are actually abusing children to produce child porn. If I accidentally come over a pay site selling child pornography, am I going to report it? f*ck no. The simple fact that I came across the page means there are images stored in my cache, and according to US laws I should therefore be prosecuted. And these things happen. That's not right.

Other examples of how f*cked up these laws are include kids of various ages getting arrested and prosecuted for possession and distribution of child pornography. Some of these might make sense, but when you get an underage girl looking at jail sentence for sending a picture of herself to her boyfriend, you know something's wrong. Who is that protecting? Obviously not the child.

So yeah. Until they fix these problems, I don't see any reason to complain about lack of enforcement. If anything, poor enforcement of bad laws is a good thing.

K^2 pretty much summed up my thoughts to a T.

Its just sad that we can bust 5000 people, be it late or at the moment, for possessing child porn yet we won't bust the guy taking the pictures and abusing the children.

Also, this is not just people in the pentagon. This was a sting on DoD (all military) and DoD contractors. Thats a big f*cking list of millions of people and not the 1 in 5 of every employee in the pentagon.

I have never seen child porn on the net before either, how strange.

Some of the child porn laws are kinda stupid, back in high school a few girls in the school get drunk take nudies of themselves send it to someone and it gets passed around, well somebody told the teachers, who told the police and quite a few kids got in trouble for having child porn rolleyes.gif heres the stupidest part the girl who took the photos got in trouble for possessing taking and distributing child porn.

This

More importantly, who PAYS for porn?! catspider.gif

But I'd also like to know what their definition of 'child porn' is. Apparently, a girl who takes a pic of her titties an hour before she turns 18 is considered a child to a vast majority.

They seriously need to fix that. Damn it, there's a f*ckhuge difference between an 17 year old and a 5 year old.

edit-actually, you know what? Yeah, I consider 19 year olds children as well. You don't automatically mature when you turn 18. Hell, my uncle's 23 and is about as mature and developed as a 15 year old.

It's a process. But if you want a number, I'd say 23 and up should be a point for 'okay, quit this sh*t, you've been an adult for a while now'.

What were we talking about?

Age of majority is a broader issue. To me personally, it seems like an archaic concept. We have a way to run licensing tests for pretty much everything. At very least, requiring a person to pass a test before voting sounds like a good idea. Licensing for something like alcohol consumption can consist of a knowledge test, psych eval, and a physical. Most of the things that have an age limit on them could be dealt with this way.

Of course, there are obvious problems, like who puts together the tests, and who's to say that these would be fair. This is particularly bad with tests for voting rights, because it cannot not turn political by very definition. But if we start with some of the simpler ones, maybe we can work our way up towards voting and such.

On the topic of child pornography on internet, can't say I ran into one either, but they would have to be fly-by-night operations. I've ran into some of these. Usually "selling" something to you just to get your credit card information. If you let the person download some illegal porn in exchange for CC information, it sounds like a pretty good way to ensure that the said person doesn't complain to the authorities when his account is drained. I really don't see any reason for a "legit" operation of that sort. And if your CC doesn't get drained, it's probably FBI's sting site, and you are screwed either way.

If you want HD you gotta pay.

You don't even need a box hidden away, you just pay with paypal and watch it on the net.

That's nuts. I'm glad they are cracking down on child pornography, but it will probably never disappear completely.

You nailed it with the "sick" part. I have always believed people are born like that, and I'm perfectly fine with them as long as they keep it to themselves - stay the f*ck away from children, don't watch child porn (supports the industry) and generally for your own sake don't be open about it unless talking to a shrink or someone like that (which you should).

They disgust me if they fail to keep it to themselves because honestly to me that's the point where you deserve to die for the sake of the children. Like that f*cker who abused atleast 30 children in a Dutch daycare.

Sorry for all the cursing, this just really gets me pissed off.

Are there any more reliable sources to this ? I've ran a google search and found nothing, It's not even on CNN. And things like this would be around world news in minutes, yet I hear this for the first time.

You are f*cked up.

This is all f*cked up altogether. If this is true everyone of those officials should be tossed in the slammer. I really doubt the credibility of the source though.

K^2: Agreed, it needs a complete overhaul, there's too much red tape involved.

Machiavelli's Prophecy

Owners of child porn and makers of it; They all need to f*cking die. We should send them to some deserted island and let the f*ckers rape eachother while eating sh*t and being eaten alive by anacondas.

And @ whoever said "some child porn watchers are normal people".. Are you serious? Obviously they're mentally ill. I mean it just gets my blood boiling, little kids being preyed upon like this.

KILL-ALL-PEDOS, that's my new motto. mad.gif

I seriously do not undesrtand why people go so crazy over CP. Don't get me worng, child f*ckers are a bunch of f*cktards, but just fapping to the imagination of rapping kiddos, without actually f*cking anyone, it fine by me. But my point is, some of you people over react about wanting the death of some lonners who just fap to CP in front of a computer screen. I mean, there are over 9000 kinds of sh*t wich are over 9000 times worse than just fapping to some CP.

Ignoring the blatent trolling of the above post...

By the figures given in this thread and the fact there are circa 25k non-military Pentagon employeees, 20.4% of those who work at the Pentagon purchased Child Porn.

Yet again GMS, you're talking utter sh*t.

Why do you think the porn industry in general exists?

Right, because people watch it.

Why does the child porn industry exist?

Because people watch it.

You're supporting the industry by watching it, if it still wasn't clear.

I know someone who did 5 years hard time for possession of child porn.

He set up a meeting with a 15yr old(undercover fed) but backed out before the meeting. That didn't stop them[feds]. They still confiscated his machine and found a couple of pictures. When I say 'a couple' I mean like 2 images.

This guy is/was a super smart nuclear engineer. He was making mad cash, but now he works in a pillow factory or something. I'm actually convinced he was just used as a 'poster child' of what could happen.

I can't even look at an 18,19,20 some year old without feeling like they are too young blush.gif

I'm pretty sure that child porn has existed since the beginning of cameras and porn itself.

I agree with the people here saying it is time to bust the producers and not the consumers. The producers are the real sick ones since they are in it for the money and are just exploiting the kids.

I can relay a more disturbing story, but I'm not sure how much I can say without risking anything job wise. I used to work with a known pedophile. He got popped for giving out the names, addresses, and phone numbers of our sex crimes unit to the NAMBLA organization. This creepy ass guy used to keep teen mags like teen beat, and tiger beat at his desk. You know those magazines that teen girls read to see all the pictures of the latest teen heart throbs.

Edit:

at first i thought this was going to be a milestone topic

Surely not 5200. I mean seriously you're unlikely to even meet 30 pedophiles in your lifetime, let alone be working in an environment where there are 5200 who are pedophiles. There must be some kind of exaggeration or it got spread around but purchasing? Nah I don't believe it.

As for those people arguing CP isn't a problem, GTFO.
