Punk-in-Drublic
Just watching a video of some guys awesome video game system collection, everything is top notch by the looks of things. Lots of old school systems here. Really impressed with this collection, I don't have a collection myself but if I came into big money I would definitely start one like this as I used to have lots of these when I was a kid. That is one hell of an impressive collection, and that's the type of collection I'd love to have when I have a seriously high income of money...just wouldn't be as big as that, unfortunately. Finn 7 five 11
I'd say based on what I can find and see here, expect you'll pay $20 for a used PS2 or original Xbox, pay more, and you may be paying too much Used? Whhhaaat! You're crazy, they sell used games in the bargain bin for $5 OR $10 each.

marmoo
The Vectrex was a proper gaming system - even my dad when he bought it for me and my brother back in the early 80's loved it - he loved the Asteroids rip off 'Minestorm' - dare I say it, even better than Atari's Asteroids MB games built it and it was ahead of its time - ok it had just Sprite graphics but man, did they do a great job with it Even have voice on it - anyone remember the game Spike? start it at about 1:30 DARNIT! pyramid head
I bought Wonder Boy in Monster Land off PSN last night, it's been a long time since i played this game in the arcades, sadly the arcade where i played this game closed years ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Boy_in_Monster_Land

trip
ok it had just Sprite graphics but man, did they do a great job with it It was killing me...I hate to say this but it was vector based and not really [rasterized] sprite based. Which makes it even cooler to think, since they did such a fine job. You're a lucky man. I really wanted a Vectrex back in the day. I didn't even have any friends that had one. The closest I got to one was playing a demo model in a store for all but 5 minutes. I'll go back to trying to stay out of this thread yep..made mistake..it is vector graphics - clue was in the name Had only a couple of friends with one here in the Uk back in the 80's - we used to swap games but to be honest, when MB said they were ending development for it, the games crashed in price - for a while was picking up games for £2 from a place in North London - only reason I would cross the Thames ( I was a South Londoner) Edited May 27, 2012 by marmoo
trip
Since I'm in the older age bracket around these parts I try not to participate too much in these threads - or you all would just get sick of me talking about my arcade cabinets and sh*t like that. Although...I am currently selling out the last of my non-arcade [older] game stuff. One more day left on my Nintendo Advance SP if anyone is interested. I'm also going to be unloading two Intellivisions(about 30 games w/overlays and manuals for each) if anyone is interested. KilnerLUFC
Excuse the MASSIVE bump, but its relevant so I see no harm in doing so. Anyway, just recently I've been desperate to try and build a Nintendo collection up, all because I keep wanting to play Zelda again. The only problem being the fact that people seem to think a £80 price tag is OK...meaning am struggling to find a decent place to pick these games up. Twilight Princess is going for like £50 wherever I look, and am not wanting to spend that much on a fairly old game. So my question is, has anyone got some decent sites online for buying retro games and consoles? Again, apologies for the bump...
reform
I still boot up my PS2 now and then. So many GREAT games for that thing. Mister Pink

reform
Damn you just realize how old you really are when people consider PS2 retro. I guess 14 years since it launched isn't that much, but it feels like longer. I had a commodore 64 long before that but don't remember the games as fondly if I'm honest. G's Ah's
My brother and I bought an XBOX console last year after seeing one advertised online for quite cheap (it also came with four controllers and a box full of games). Now we have all three XBOX consoles: original, 360 and One. I also have a PS1 (the massive boxy version) somewhere in the garage. Had lots of fun playing that when I was younger. Fireman
It's weird how my Xbox 360 broke before my PS1 or even my SNES, both are still in working order but my XBox 360 is garbage.
Mister Pink
Damn you just realize how old you really are when people consider PS2 retro. \retro- a prefix occurring in loanwords from Latin meaning “backward” ( retrogress ); on this model, used in theformation of compound words ( retrorocket ). Retro-gaming.. going backwards.. Anything before current gen. Being that we agree current gen, console-wise, being PS4 and Xbox One. @Fireman: Yeah, that's sad. I know a good few people who's PS2's have outlived their 360's and their PS3's. Edited June 9, 2014 by Mister Pink 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

Misbegotten cad
Just made major finds at a flea market! Quantum of solace PS2, 1 euro! Gun PS2, 3 euros. Getaway PS2, 2 euros!!! I was very pleased to find Getaway, as I've been searching for it for ages. Quantum of solace was a great surprise too, especially since it turned out to be great game. Lush visuals, good controls, very Tomb Raider-esque missions. Surprising, because most 007 games I've played have been total rubbish.
Gdog
i wouldn't mind picking up a ps2 again if i could find one for cheap with some good games. i bought a megadrive/nintendo 64 a couple years ago but they just sit in my cupboard now.

Me, but the sh*t thing is that games are going for stupid prices online, so my GameCube is rarely used due to a lack of games. Does piss me off tbh, wanting to buy like Mario and Zelda etc, but not wanting to fork out like £100 just for two games!!
Mister Pink
I bought Sonic & Knuckles on XBL yesterday. I was really enjoying the gameplay. It was less than 3 yoyo's so it was a total bargain. First game I ever completed was the original Sonic. Have memories of Sonic 2 but I don't think I completed it. And I never really played Sonic & Knuckles until yesterday. Also got the original Sonic recently. Embarrassingly I put it down after getting stuck in the Labyrinth Zone (Act 2). Must pick iut up and complete the bastard again. Here's a review of S & K Cool vid... Edited March 12, 2015 by Mister Pink 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿
