bedlam120
I am having a problem with my GTA 4 for PC. It is a legit copy i bought about a month ago. The game loads up, runs great for about 15 min sometimes even an hour.. then all of sudden the screen goes black with a little gray box that say "input not supported" At first i thought it was because i was using a VGA monitor so i bought a DVI/VGA monitor and now im connected through the DVI connection. I have the games settings set at 1024X768 60 Hz.(textures, water, ect. set to medium or low, shadows are off) the monitor can support up 1600X900 80Hz. AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200 Brisbane 2.7GHz 3GB ram 4670 HD Radeon 1 Gb video card. Any help/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated. mkey82
I'm guessing your card is overheathing, you can use something like GPU-z to monitor it's temperature under load. bedlam120
I have done that already and under load the video card gets to about 60 C. That's not that hot is it? But most of the time its about 55 C and 31 C idle. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/467187-input-not-supported/#findComment-1060289949 Share on other sites
mkey82
In this case the card is probably failing. You should use some benchmarks to stress test it a bit. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/467187-input-not-supported/#findComment-1060290122 Share on other sites
bedlam120
Thanks for the quick replies guys. I really do appreciate. I have done two stability test... one i believe was called "video card stability test"? (maybe)... and the other was called Furmark. I only used the first one for about 30 min with NO errors and the furmark i let that one run for 3 hours with NO errors.. Should i leave furmark on over night or is that too extreme? mkey82
3 hours should be enough. What kind of power supply do you have there? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/467187-input-not-supported/#findComment-1060290137 Share on other sites

mkey82
Would it be possible for you to borrow a friend's power supply and test your system? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/467187-input-not-supported/#findComment-1060294998 Share on other sites
bedlam120
No i dont think so. Why would the power supply have anything to do with the video failing? Does it give too much power or not enough? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/467187-input-not-supported/#findComment-1060295642 Share on other sites
mkey82
You could get something like that due to low power. It's either that or the card is failing and without some extra equipment you'll have a hard time testing it.
