ENB and performance

im not even sure THIS is the right place to ask this specific question but i will.

 

as mkey might remember i noticed a HUGE FPS drop after installing GTAIV on win7 (i installed win7 about 4 days ago) and even when ENB was OFF.

however it wasnt completely off since the d3d9.dll was still in the game library and the mod still loaded but i figured that if i turn it off (shift+f12) than it isnt working so my FPS should be better. but it wasnt. even on seemingly default look it crawled at 12FPS.

 

afte removing the d3d9.dll file completely and disabling the mod my FPS went back to pertty high around 35FPS.

 

this is really wierd since when i was playing GTAIV with ENB on windows XP a week ago it ran at 27FPS WITH enb on. WITH. i had a much MUCH better FPS with ENB ON on XP.

this is pretty weird that while stock game seems smoother now, with enb ON it worse than on XP.

 

if anyone knows anything about ENB and performance , i'd love to hear some guesses as to why that is andd if there is anything that can be done to get ENB to run as fast as it did when i was on XP
