Okay, so I was wondering what it'd be like to have a GTA set in Halesowen, where I live. I thought that other people would probably have similar thoughts, and this poll is where you can voice your opinions! Remember, this is GTA, so it doesn't matter if your town is boring!

i'd buy it but not for the place it's set id rather have it set else were but if i had no choice i would buy it simiply becuase gta is a great game but i however would like it set in my country in a city like london would be great.

I'd like to have it set in my town. How cool would it be to drive past your own house? Or have a shootout with the police in your own garden? I'd definitely buy it. Imagine raining 20mm down from an Apache on your local paper shop, or ramraiding the local post office! With Google Earth and Street View, it'd be easy.

No just no the city or town that gets it should built like all other gtas with no real world houses and should also be put in some of the biggest and most famous cities on the planet not your home town + the story would suffer for this.

I'm not talking about the game actually being made, I just want to know if there was a GTA with an exact replica of your town, made especially for you, would you buy it? That's all I'm asking, I'm not getting into the worldwide thing. Like I said, I'd buy it just to lob a grenade into the chippy.

That's my exact point! I'd love to roam around my hometown in a Lamborghini with a couple of friends hanging out of the window, shooting Glocks at anyone they see. And the idea of seeing people with AK's in a virtual recreation of my town would be epic.

I most likley would buy it but it would be the worst gta ever made my friend and i would buy it for the fact that it's gta but this topic is kind of silly considering that this will never happen. however throwing a grenade in the chippy woulod be fun

I know it'll never happen, unless you really threatened R*, but it's plain old wishful thinking. Actually, a mod could do it... it'd be a pretty hefty mod though, and I wouldn't be able to use it anyway as I only have a 360.

In my town a gun would consist of a cap gun with steel BB's in the cylinder. Ideally, in my version, it'd be the same town with a fictionalised story, like a flood of guns or something? Because my town is pretty quiet. There was a raid on a couple of apartments at the top of my street last year, and the year before that there was an armed raid on a block of flats near the town center. Those are the two most exciting things that have happened over here. Who says R* couldn't invent a story for the game? Sod the chavs, get some Russian Mafia in your local bingo hall... Lol.

But in all seriousness, I wouldn't buy a GTA set in my town. If near you means New York City, then yes. But in my actual town, nah. Nothing ever happens where I live. People in my school think cutting class makes you a badass, and getting in a fight makes you tough sh*t. Unless it was made just for me. In that case, why not?

Yes, it would be. My town is quiet, but still... invent a nice backstory and that's sorted.

Basically GTA is set in the capital of a state/popular cities.

 

Like everyone else, I would buy it just because it's GTA. But it would be cool if it was set in Boston.

GTA in Canberra would suck, Canberra is neat, has great roads, and not many/any downright scummy areas, there is alleyways at the end of almost every street though.

A GTA near me wouldn't be THAT bad...

 

I live in the Caribbean so I could see them cook up a nice game with Vice City, Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, DR (that's me), Puerto Rico and some other smaller islands, complete with drug smuggling and empire building.

I already got my GTA, pretty much twice. Though IV has parts of NJ near me, so I'm fine. Anyway, they didn't do a good job depicting NJ, most people from outside of the East Coast of the USA probably don't even realize Alderney is based on NJ and not NY, but oh well. I live 10 mins from NYC as well, so that also kind of counts as near me. It is pretty accurate too. The Car Wash in Western Algonquin is in the same spot in real life.

If this was to happen, i think we have one of the best cities for a gta setting. Melbourne, Australia would go absolutly mental with a bunch of dudes carrying machetes to AKs. We have heaps of asian gang stuff going on already, and a fair bit of good ol bloods and crips. so why not bring it here!?

I want to fire rockets at my school and kill all the teachers. But each game would cost about £5,000 because they'd have to make a different town/city for every 100 or so people that bought the game.

A GTA in Bath would be boring. The worst crimes here are like a chav riding an illegally loud moped or someone nicking a doovde from hmv.

Yes, but imagine being able to go into humv and shoot a rupg at the people stealing the doovdes.

 

I watch Fonejacker too lol. And who says you couldn't fabricate a backstory? It's not like there's actually a massive shootout in Miami every day, but they still made VC. My town's quiet too, but it's just the fact that it's my town, and being able to cruise round my street with an AK, would buy the game for me.

I would totally go for another west coast game, except this time, north west. My hometown, portland oregon, definitely eugine, and maybe seattle, and of course all the surrounding country side in between. Imagine being able to shoot up all those f*cking hipsters for once xD, plus all the druggies and homeless people, itd be a dream come true

 

edit: and maybe vancouver too you could travel in between countries xDDD
