Hey! You're not the only one. We hate this sh*t, especially in El Castilo Del Diablo. Wondering if you can make these planes altitude little bit higher, to not to crash to certain objects or just disable them. And we had that happening to us also playing some missions from request, prison life for example we heard explosion after explosion, because of bad mapping (some random antena was put too high) :D it even crashed during the recording of Prison Life, but our recorder didn't get bothered as much.

Idk man, probably the AI of the game spawning planes at random altitude so the players playing SA can have realistic experience but it becomes a pain in ass sometimes for designers. Like one time I was adding a objective and boom a stuntplane crashed and came exploding toward me and I died. XD

It just spawns planes above player in height limit - that Rockstar initially thought that's good, but it isn't. It's bad when it actually there's a spawn glitch and it appears in the city (ex. Las Venturas, Four Dragons Casino) or when leaving Ganton Gym (here it does not crash anywhere). We also recorded it, when playing San Torino (skip to 3:50)

Yes it just spawns planes with no pilots above the player, and their AI literally just drive a straight line regardless if there is a object or building in its way. I find it funny.

Talking about flying stuff, it really frustates me that making a functional route for helicopters are painfully hard but making them follow/attaack the player works just well... but the exact opposite happens with airplanes.

Hey man, why did you close your topic? @Horus Publishing

We just decided not to record submissions anymore - we got uninterested so much. We'll record the last submissions that were sent, but we don't want to accept missions anymore. We lost fun playing DYOM Missions. We have more fun scripting multiplayer server, engaging with people there and having fun playing on our scripts - here it's just constant crashing of DYOM # Addon at the end of the mission, so we always need to log-out of our PC and if we had something open - we'll lose it (because logging out makes you lose everything and turn on every application again), we also said that we'll record every single DYOM Contest mission - actually we'll not. We'll record few of the missions, just because also we got uninterested, but also some of the missions that we encounter through searching DYOM website, or in this case the Keyes entry (mainly second mission) where after failing couple of times recorder gave up and said he's not doing it anymore. We got views on DYOM IX updates, but we're also not satisfied with it because mission upload would get around 50-to max maybe 70, 80 views in peak (that's not good). We'll record missions from time to time now, or cover some DYOM IX updates for now it's just not interesting anymore. Seeing designer of a mission sometimes laughing at you, because you "can't complete his mission" because it's difficult it's also demotivating. Nobody else agreed to record / help us record videos from DYOM to our channel (we always said we would credit him, in the comment or in the description), we searched for "that" person because we don't have the time to record this stuff. That's it. If any GTA game comes out in next years we'll also record gameplays from it because we have pc that can obviously record it, DYOM will appear but not that much. We will mainly focus on Multiplayer and keeping our server alive with the players happy ;)

Thanks for understanding. We'll try to do that still, but motivation everyday is less, and less..

Springfield

With so much of these addons or new versions of DYOM prevailing all over the forums, first note that I would like to clear is that I am not against it but rather very appreciative of their hard work and dedication they are putting to actually make something alive which has been void for so many years. As a matter of fact, whatever the version they introduce in the future is not really worth it if the developers do not pay much attention to it. To actually make amongst them an official version for the further development and disregard others.

Secondly, the hype of creating your own mission is old and forgotten now. People might be more interested in GTA V's mod supporting similar features as it is, but when it comes to GTA SA... scripts and total conversion are still dominates it.

It's a bit rational point of view, which is important, it's necessary. But I don't think it is in fact our current reality. We may not have a huge popularity like V and other mainstream games, but we do have both good quantity and quality into our community, still.

But let's talk about quantity first. Again, we're not popular, however, take a look at DYOM's website. Even thought it's an outdated poorly designed website, we still get more than 5 new missions every single day. GTA San Andreas still has a bit of space in YouTube, we still have the advantage of not requiring a modern PC in able to play, which attracts low-end PC users.

Now quality,  that's the most important part of this community. We have a ton of good and talented people with us that is almost unimaginable seeing this in other communities. We got Halter, SKIC and SIZZZ making the most mind-blowing addons and modifications for DYOM that we would never expect happening a few years ago, I'm not a software developer but I'm certainly sure that modifying a closed-source code from a obscure programming language (SCM) is not a easy task and in case of SKIC, totally redesigning DYOM to C++/LUA, thats fantastic. Now in designing part, we also got a group of creative people doing great missions, like Zeko, M316, THBP, and others. And I won't even mention the skin makers here.

I don't know if DYOM IX or rED will one day be the official version of DYOM - and I hope it does! But, really, following all the events and seeing how everything goes here is already something we should be happy and amazed for. As M316's Discord status says: "the chase is better than the catch". So, let's appreciate what we've built now, because it's already much, and it's cool af. Know when you're in the good old days before you actually left them.

The quantity is what concerns here. The excursion of playing these missions, enjoying every single effect and dialogue has been, without a doubt, the most fun part overall. Even before any of the version came out, I started to work with animations and simple tweaks in its closed source (you can check it out as I was the first one to present back in 2016 I guess? but was rejected by Dutchy) so I have been through different phases of this community. If we contrast the state just an year back and now, you will recognize the wide margin of daily uploads on the website. It is not what it used to feel before, not because of daily five uploads but that these new versions aren't laying the impact on the community as expected. That's why the developers should choose an official version and announce something on the website (not to mention, also to change the outdated and poor design of the website with new interface would surely do something here).

I honestly think both you and Toriality are right here, the website definitely has to change and the old devs have to make some sort of announcement once the "new versions" are properly tested.

The website is bugged, for some of the people trailers on the website aren't showing properly - these amongst other things are the main problems. If admin of the website would add something like: Delete your mission (from your profile), or separated tabs for DYOM IX, DYOM:RE or some kind of info about new DYOM versions, addons that are coming up - would be marvelous.

We're getting so much more attention to DYOM IX and DYOM Remastered. We reached out to some YouTubers with 500k subscribers, one agreed to do a video on DYOM IX! How amazing. Hopefully he does that, and he's amazed that DYOM got a new update (two new versions :D) :D

I'm starting to get the same sympathy what @Springfield said. Even though this community's no longer had the manpower to increase its popularity demand? But we've never expect to have a great things like this to happen in the post-future before, such as having a new version of DYOM that isn't officially approved by the developers but permission is fully granted. Honestly, I'm quite surprise a bit these days that there are more new members visiting this old community, giving guidelines and advices. But what concerns me here is none of them showing no signs of passion and creativity to distribute? So yeah, I hate to say this but DYOM has also lost its productivity manner no matter what kind of cosmetic remarks or assumptions to add up? It changed nothing to the community.

Yeah.. Those people most of the time like seeing updates on YouTube, but they're not doing missions. Maybe they think that DYOM website is not for IX and Remastered? There should we website revamp, or @Halter should buy a domain and to his own :)

A year back we had pandemics. Most of digital content experienced a good increase on the visitors quantity.

But I agree, if the original developers start making the right decisions and changes, specially in terms of versioning and website updating, we will have a more quality-of-life system, leading into more engaged newcomers.

What do you define as signs of passion and creativity to distribute?

It's for download on GTAinside also: https://www.gtainside.com/en/sanandreas/mods/177777-dyom-mod-v0-2-beta-1-san-andreas-mobile/ (beta version of "DYOM Mobile") - very interesting, can somebody check that one out?

They could choose another name, really...
