Is it me or is it just that all you have to do for your MP to get a lot of attention and get praised is use mods, more specifically GTA United? Because I think some MPs wouldn't be praised at all if they had 50 skin mods or sounds on every mission. I know that it makes the MP "special" but I think people just flock towards anything that uses mods or skins and ignore a huge chunk of the rest. Look at Gangland Problems, I honestly doubt it'd mean much and that I wouldn't win if I didn't include mods and sounds, so that's why I did. I knew that if I used mods and sounds that it'd better my chance of winning and I abused the hell out of that knowledge and made it my bitch.

I have always thought that skin mods and any other additional downloadable content is completely unnecessary, given the fact that people mod the game themselves anyway. Doesn't add much to the mission honestly. Also, we have went down into a level where the majority of us prefer shiny aesthetics instead of decent story plot and gameplay design. In conclusion, most of the community's rating factors have downgraded, and that's it. I'd not focus on such attention.

Just like why some people these days love games with great graphics even if they have crappy story and even crappier gameplay :p

You got that right! A cookie from me :cookie:

Which GTA game gets criticized for costing time only to graphics and letting down the story, other than GTA V?

"The dream of every person alive in this state... piss from the top of the Great Sept of Epsilon"

Mission 4: The Hawk and the Crow

Mission 5: War

Chapter 3 is almost done now. Will it be better than the final of the previous chapter? Will there be any more deaths?

Sit down, player. Chapter 3 of The Game it's getting to its climax.

The worst type of Mission descriptions are those which start with "This is [insert generic western name here] and he likes killing people...":lol:

Basically that tells you all you need to know about the effort put into character development.

Good Opinion Bro.

You should see my first and original mission pack. Is about a gangster who returns home and plans to conquer Los Santos by leading a gang called Ganton Street Families.

@Target: Some people don't really like to put much focus in character developments. If that's the case, what can you do about it? Some of us unacknowledged designers just wanted to create what we wanted because we enjoyed it instead of what all of you critics and seniors want.

Let me make one thing clear, my comment was in no way a personal attack to you or to anyone. Look if you do what you enjoy, that's great, man. Keep doing it then. But if you intentionally do not appeal to the 'seniors' then don't complain about the lack of acknowledgement, friend. People just want to see quality content that is enjoyable and makes sense.

Anyhow,

Don't forget to catch Episode 2 of The Fort: Buck-L-Up tomorrow!

Things are getting serious.

Speaking of which, can anyone else share how much time do you spend in designing a mission? And of course I am talking about the best you can do (and by the way, that doesn't necessarely mean reaching the 100 objective limit). I know I take roughly 3-5 hours with breaks (even if it is quite primitive, minimal object placement and all). Sometimes I don't even finish, just continue designing the same mission next day. I realize it's a very abstract, dependable-on-a-lot-of-factors thing to ask, but atleast rough estimates would be a welcome reply. I just want to conclude if I am wasting too much time or not, based on your replies.

For the best,I think it would take me 5 hours and a half.

I haven't calculated the average.

I made clear in a comment of mine in the DYOM profile, that it took me around 40 hours to stay in front of the screen to complete b0a4 e2lc. (though I had cancelled missions due to issues that I couldn't fix, such as crashes. When I say 40,I'm talking about a total, and that includes only chapter 2 and 3.

In Identity I spend at least 8 hours in a row to create a mission. That's why it's in hold now. Too much work and I haven't enough time for it. With The Game now is at least 2 hours if it's only cutscene, 4-5 if it have gameplay. For the climax missions the same as Identity, at least 8 hours in a row.

@Target: Who thought that you intended to attack people me? I didn't complained why am I not like one of you achieved designers, I just expressed one of the reasons why people like me would create such mission anyways. The other reason being some of them just wanted to remind themselves some features of DYOM V8.

Back when I used to create missions it would pretty much take from 2 to 3 hours, depending on my mood, having a bad mood or no interest can leave you stuck in the same mission and never finish, you really need to focus on finishing it before starting it.

@THBP: I wonder if you actually take a break during designing if you could have 8 hours total of work per day? When I was little, I could play games for 12 hours per day and that was when DYOM wasn't a thing. As I grew up, I can only design for about 4 hours and after that I would get tired. And I don't remember if I could design again at the same after after I took a break.

Obviously not in a row literally. That's why I take at least more than 4 days to make them. My free time get lower and lower every year.
