Here is something to start with:

 

I started on the downloadable manual guide a couple of days ago, and well, very little has been done because I am stuck with a problem in the CSS file. A lot of thanks goes to Notna who did everything from making the files to testing them.

 

As soon as I find a way to solve that problem, Notna will post a screenshot of how the text looks like on the background image, and we will need your suggestions on whether to keep it that way or change it.

 

Now again, PLEASE, don't go backwards again.

HTML is really not that hard. I learn a lot in just a week. Some of it is similar to BBcodes that we use here. I only used a site which have good web design tutorials to learn it.

Do you think DYOM's got a bad reputation on the forums? People definetely shouldn't judge on a modification based on a few spammy members. They say modding is the "mature" thing to do, that DYOM is for kids. Well guess what? Not everyone wants to mod or start scripting missions, Dutchy said it herself it is very difficult.

I made 4 gangsta missions (so far) but they don't suck, atleast I like them.

For those people who say, DYOM is for kids and modding is for mature people are wrong. I mean, it is not about difficulty of modding, it's just that you may not have the time you need to learn modding. From my personal experience, I don't even get enough time to make missions using DYOM, because I am busy learning some other things even now while I am waiting for my results to come. If now, I am not getting any time to make missions, when will I get the time to learn modding and make mods when I start my university (most likely March next year) or get a job?

 

It's true that there are a few members in this part of the forums who needs to be more mature, but it's obvious that not all members here are like that. I hope you are not giving this point because a kid who has just turned 16 comes out of nowhere in the DYOM sub forums and start flaming all the members without even giving a valid reason why all the members here are immature. It's true that I have heard complaints from some few senior members about the immaturity of some members giving valid reasons, and I even agree with those. So yeah, it is true that some members here really need to be more mature with the way they behave.

 

It's true that the gangster theme have been overused, but still it's originality can be brought about by giving a different kind of story to the gangster theme. That way it can attract more attention.

This is really ridicilous. Around all places in the net, people are always pointing it out like "i hattteee kidss likee thooose 12 years old daa ihq". In fact, all who say that are like 15 years old or so. They've been 12 years old too. It's like they hate themself.

Yes you didn't give a valid reason before. You just said something like 'This place is a sh*thole, you guys deserve it' in the first post you made.

 

I actually agree with what you said now, but I don't agree with what you said before. In your previous posts you were like blaming all the members here. But with this posts you actually admit that they are only some members who are immature, to which I completely agree.

 

And why should you blame the immature behavior of theirs in other part of the forums here? I know they operate here too, but you can as well just tell them in the forums where they are 'messy' instead of flaming everyone here?

 

For me I really don't go to all the parts of forums here apart from the General Chat where I look at some 'interesting' topics, so I don't know how the other DYOM members behave around the whole forums, but it is true that some, and I literally mean only some, members need to behave more mature around the DYOM forums.

 

So yeah, I kind of agree with this post of yours, but not with the others you had made.

 

By the way, this is nothing personal between you and me. Just want to clear things up.

 

EDIT: About the last part you said, I know those guys shouldn't have behaved the way they did, but you also have to realise that the way you started flaming everyone here like that was not right. I know that they still shouldn't have overreacted the way they did. And that is why I replied to Stuntzman late, because it is already past midnight where they live and are probably asleep so they cannot overreact like the way they did.
