@SatournFan Depends. In the tutorial video i made, everything went well. Same for some other missions too, but after using it in some longer & detailed missions i made (tested multiple times), after using this feature it always screws up the text. I don't know, it may depend on something and it doesn't always happen, but when it happen i don't feel like using it anymore.

 

@Rendy Specter That may be true but don't forget that the 2013 was the most inactive DYOM year out of all. I remember when everybody used to say ''DYOM is dead'' much more often than they say now. It was just few of us hanging around in DYOM section. MOTW had only like 2-4 participate at most. All topics were empty MPs with no posts/feedbacks at all. Not any event (besides MOTW) was there to at least try to bring back activity. Glad 2014 & especially 2015 brought the activity back.

Since I don't want to go off-topic..

 

Jimmy, you're wrong when you said that crashes are only occured due to people's PC performance. Why? Because I've ever saw the actual cutscenes of the final mission of "The Platinum Circle" with so many attempts. And when I see AznKei's playthrough of "LTA:TBOTRD", there is one mission that AznKei had crashing issue while in my case there's no such problem at all. So it's basically random crash, not definite crash.

 

Want to know why the camera in "Swiping King:Sequel" is always stuck there with DYOM V8? Because you always hide actors and cars after latest cutscenes. This is wrong, since DYOM V8 is vulnerable with this cutscene problem. You should have hidden all of those stuff AFTER teleport player, NOT latest cutscene.

You didn't mean to be an asshole here? That's all that you gotta say after clearly flaming it my way? Ok then, since you want to make this public, let me be an ''asshole''. I'm pretty much always a calm guy and it takes a sh*tload to get me mad, but in your case, you just had to push with no reason whatsoever, right? So here you go.

 

First of all, I never said crashes occur only due to people's PC performance. You might want to read my post about it again. I said it's mostly due to CLEO platform/DYOM version and PC performances all together in all possible combinations of instability, but it was easier just to pull my comment out of the context so you'd make it look like I'm no good, right? Unfortunately, my DYOM version was tweeked a little bit way back when I reported a lot of bugs to PatrickW via PM and he got rid of them all and sent me that tweeked DYOM version for me to test it and left it to me. That's why, basically, unfortunately from playing perspective, I may have a more stable version in some minor parts of the whole engine since PatrickW never released that minor bug tweeked version. Nevertheless, it still proves my point which you failed to understand for I don't know which time already. And then, in the second paragraph of your post, you actually confirm what I said with the reference towards AznKei's walkthough. I said when one person gets a crash and other one can play it without problems, it's exactly due to PC performance that makes the only difference if both players are running the same CLEO platform and DYOM version. But hey, good way to be passive-aggressive towards a person without even understanding you confirmed what I said, Rendy.

 

Crashing cutscenes are SOLE proof of what I said. That's the most common crash that occurs because of CLEO/DYOM incompatibility and PC performance gathering it right after crashes that occur after triggering a checkpoint. But, you didn't have the decency to check that before flaming me on purpose, right?

 

Another thing, I literally almost never hide actors and vehicles after the latest cutscene unless cutscene is the last objective before transfering to gameplay. In 99% of the cases, I hide the majority of actors and vehicles after the teleport that makes a transition to gameplay or a new scene. But hey, I guess you never bothered to check that out except one or maybe two missions in which I particularly had to do it and assumed I do it everywhere, right? Way to be an asshole, Rendy. Good job.

 

I hope this makes me a big enough ''asshole'' for your taste. I would just politely ask you not to refer to me anymore and just pretend I don't exist because it seems to me you're just mad at me for I don't really know what because what in the hell have I ever done to you to question each and every thing I do and to use every little bit you think you have to flame it towards me? You're the first person who ticked me off in over 5 years of being here. But if you seriously want it, since I'm done with my project now, I can go play each and every mission you made. Want me to open up a poll where people can guess how many irregularities I'll find in your missions? Or bet how many crashes I get during playing them? Since you said in your previous post towards me that you don't make missions that crash and that nobody had crashes during playing your missions. That's because not many people have played them since there is not a lot of them either. Yeah, but a good way to tick me off for no reason and no argument and f*ck up my day.

Fine! Once I've done with "The Decisions", I will never make DYOM missions anymore. I just don't want if the rule "4 days have past and your topic will get temporarily locked" will be applied.That's ridiculous, how hard is it to understand that not everyone can design missions every day?

 

I maybe will get banned once I have said this, but I'm afraid to see what will happened to DYOM in 2020. Guess what? Even more designers who go easy route are born and always be praised while these designers who always making something new and worth of challenges are disappeared forever.

 

Same can said for video game industry these days. The same mechanics keeps being produced simply because these companies are too afraid to make games challenging even if you have played that games many times. And take risks from implementing new things.

 

NES games era is the beginning of where video games are used to be pieces of arts. And once PS2 had been discontinued, I began to stop waiting for new games that I would expected to be great yet after they've been released they are just nothing special.

 

Call me an arrogant or whatever but this is just how I speak. You don't like it then don't ever talk with me, simple as that.

If you're such an egoistic bitch then it's fine by me if you leave. You only whine about yourself and how "underrated" your missions are and think you can apply that to everyone else. I sometimes have problems with getting noticed too, but do i whine about it day and night? No. I make missions to make the missions. I'm not here for the fame. I'm sorry, but if you're the only one with problems towards Jimmy, i think you've done something wrong.

 

I'm not gonna write an essay about how. If you don't get the point after Jimmy wrote a huge-ass post then i don't know what you do get.

What the heck do you think your missions are?Calling them average,would be extremely generous.

Just played Vincent Family's first two missions.They have the most cheesy dialogue I ever saw in DYOM.Period.

Haven't been designing nor playing any missions for a few months. Nor have I did something that have connection to Grand Theft Auto. But here I am, back, just playing missions and not anymore interested in designing any. May I ask if DYOM is used by many players by now?

Right now my situation is the complete opposite than the previous times I've been designing. Usually I had millions of stories in mind, to the point I couldn't bother finishing the previous one because I wanted to do the next one already. But now, I want to design so bad but I don't have a story, which is, strange to say the least.

 

Nonetheless, I have a few hints on what I'm trying to build a story around, so we'll see.

I, too, have got plenty of suggestions or stories that ought to be good. The only problem is, the time on how I will manage to make it and having the knowledge of arranging its story. In that case, thinking of a story is easy but designing it is ought to be the hard one.

Would be nice to see something new from you. Welcome back! :^:

I'm glad to see some old faces :colgate:. I'm thinking of a return in designing missions but I don't know how much I'm gonna last. The lack of motivation is the problem but I've been watching some horror movies and some ideas came to my head, so maybe I will do something.

Well, i have made a story based on hobos you'll think it's kinda stupid littel bit but that's the fact we're living on, but it's still under construction,

here's the story.

 

Brandon Become a poor man after his familly death dunring the Revolution that happend in the town he's was living in, he has nothing to look to or even live like

any person after the incident.
after three years his situation get worse to worse, & he became a hobo searching in garbage something atleast to eat & drink, he didn't has any chance to work
or live in a decent house according to his situation, one day he was sleeping in the streets meanwhile a couple of men were having a deal to finish it
he sneak & peak, however they spotted him & knock him out, after three days he woke up in a house of the leader of he mafia, he suprised where he's now
he thought he was death that time, now things changed where he's gonna do now, run away & continue he's worthless life or beging a new chapter in a wolrd
full of advantures, play & you'll find out.

Story of a hobo? That's something that I've ever think of. But in the end I just convert it into SOVF. I don't know why I had to do that, maybe because it's kinda nonsensical or difficult. Looking forward to it, Hardluck. ;)

Hey guys I need help with a glitch. I have cutscenes that go from the V Rock hotel to the safehouse interior by the lowrider shop in LS. The first cutscene in the house shows up fine but the second one the screen turns blue and I think it's falling. I tried to place another cutscene below it's location in the sky to maybe give it time to load but it didn't work.

I'm guessing you didn't teleport the player inside of the interior prior to placing the cutscene right? because sometimes when you don't do that, the interior won't load properly during the cutscene
