Yeah i'm not into DYOM that much anymore. I'm going to law school next year so i wanna enjoy all the games that i can before i hardly have time for them.

Soon you will feel bored designing like me since we can no longer see some new features in design mode.

 

Almost 80% projects from 2014 are same things over and over again, kinda like gaming industry is going to die out, huh?

 

Oh well, nothing last forever. Thanks for giving me these great experiences, Dutchy 3010 and Patrick W.

 

I'm curious, is there a way to learn SCM so maybe I can fasten up the developments of DYOM 9? But I'm afraid I will give up as well since there are tons of opcodes inside DYOM mod.

We've got pretty much nearly everything we need.

Let's not forget,that to use DYOM you don't need any kind of SCM knowlegde.Isn't that enough already?

Even if certain areas are somewhat limited,people here worked wonders with what they had.

Give Dutchy and Patrick a break,they deserve it.

I tried myself SCM coding and quit after reading the first page of a tutorial.

Terano both and GTA IV i think dyom is just falling apart

DYOM has been falling apart for two years. Ever since 2014 with the release of DYOM V8.1

the latest and probably last DYOM version. The authors are to busy to even focus on the DYOM mod. We'll probably never get a new DYOM version, but then again we shouldn't be sitting here and complaining for a new version. We have DYOM V8. We're just gonna have to live with it. Complaining for V9 won't get Patrick or Dutchy to their computers to start scripting the new version.

 

 

Soon you will feel bored designing like me since we can no longer see some new features in design mode.

And, if you won't design just because there isn't a new version, then, I'm sorry (Wait, no I'm not) but it's your fault. Not the authors.

Then how would you like playing the same projects and designing similar projects over and over again? For god's sake, all I wants are 150 player's health and hidden vehicle collors like medium pink, medium purple, and medium green.

 

If you are a qualified and creative designer whom seniors had acknowledged your existence, you will understand.

Ok then. Your choice. Pretty dumb reason to not design IMO. Like I said, we will likely never get a new version and we just have to use what we have and work with it. You gotta have creative thinking. I'm sorry but you have to give me a better reason than this. This is not a reason to stop designing. I'm sure there's plenty of designers (Including myself) that want a TON of features in DYOM, but we likely aren't getting it, so we're just dealing with it. I suggest you do the same. DYOM V8.1 already has enough.

Jimmy, you're wrong when you said that crashes are only occured due to people's PC performance. Why? Because I've ever saw the actual cutscenes of the final mission of "The Platinum Circle" with so many attempts. And when I see AznKei's playthrough of "LTA:TBOTRD", there is one mission that AznKei had crashing issue while in my case there's no such problem at all. So it's basically random crash, not definite crash.

 

Want to know why the camera in "Swiping King:Sequel" is always stuck there with DYOM V8? Because you always hide actors and cars after latest cutscenes. This is wrong, since DYOM V8 is vulnerable with this cutscene problem. You should have hidden all of those stuff AFTER teleport player, NOT latest cutscene.

 

Please, don't be harsh, I don't mean to be an asshole here. :)

Stuff happens,we're humans.

LTA:TBOTRD isn't even made by Jimmy,shows how much research you actually did before flaming someone's missions as buggy and incrediby hard.I never,ever had a problem with Jimmy's missions,and,as far to my knowlegde nobody else did.

What's the point of your entire discussion,not only here,but in his topic too?

Yeah,Jimmy is one of the best mission designers and the nicest senior designer there is,that's a fact.

I don't know what you're trying to achieve with your posts,but constantly bitching about getting no attention won't help the situation,sorry.

Instead,start actually designing and with your excuses.(I mean really,how the hell is the 150 health bug stoping you from making a decent MP)

Don't expect your topics to overflow with feedback and comments if you don't build respect and recognition yourself.

They won't design another dyom version because that's the limits of the GTASA engine.Moreover even the creators gave up long time ago.

If that is true then that's okay with me. But who knows if cleo 5 exists and we can get much hope for DYOM V9? I really wanted to make a rail shooting mission.

If DYOM bores you, then start creating missions with alot of mods involved, or even on a whole full conversion. Like I did. Ever heard of GTA Anderius/Alien City? It's not being played much, but it contains a huge new map, like everything is modded. I went ahead and started creating missions on there. I was sort of bored of San Andreas, but now I'm full of idea's. You might want to try that too!

Hey guys, I'm back. I was out for one week because of my notebook, I didn't found the stupid driver of video and wireless to it, just found it now. But I was managed to save all the missions of VfV in my pen-drive, so I just stopped doing missions, I didn't losed it. Now I'm coming back designing, progress is in +/- 30% of the part 2/4. That's it, soon I'll post more informations.

I tried it a long time ago but I think it doesn't work, I can't remember exactly.

Nah, it's actually bugged. Try it by yourself, make a mission and try using this feature. It will mess up the whole text in the mission that can't be undone (except if you have another save of the same mission).

wow. I don't think that's really necessary, because you could always use notepad or notepad++.

also, i love how at the end of the video it said "you're just wasting your time..."

I'm using Notepad++ always. The best way to fix your grammar errors and spelling.

The feature could be better than Notepad++ (because one wrong move in notepad, and your mission is history), but seeing how bugged it is, it's quite useless. I don't remember if reported the bug when V8 was still in beta, but i'm sure i will report this once the bugfix/V9 gets in progress. It's really a waste for a feature like this, barely anyone use it.

I'm using Dyomtemp until now to translate missions, and I didn't saw any bug on it. I already tried Notepad++, but I prefer Dyomtemp. Seriously, didn't saw any bug on it. Never.

Please, instead of complaining about how DYOM is dead, do something about it. Make missions and have fun with it. Don't bother yourself over little things, don't worry about getting no feedback. You shouldn't be making missions in the first place if you didn't enjoy it yourself.

The thing is, nobody has ever made a rail shooting land vehicles missions since this hasn't featured yet. And take a look at the recent projects. Most of them are just the same things from 2014. Remembered in 2013 where this community used to be the bomb. But now, this community has been taken over by overrated designers while underrated designers are always being left in the darkness.

Back then. We have Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 4, Max Parker, Dark Assassin: The Conspiracy, etc... and I forgot that 2014 and 2012 are not bad too.

Until around 2015 where these people praise designers who made most of their missions repetitive, rushes, and just the clones of this community ever had yet they still claims those projects 'amazing'. Please... there are still more people who actually took their time to make sure that their missions don't have any bugs at all and worth of challenges as great as NES games in general whose factually deserved that much of attentions and supports.
