You can say it's an unofficial Logo of MP, ( i was not in good mood but still i made it, this is looking pretty weak.

EFLV was a series by LeonCJ (LnD)

But yeah, It doesn't has a copyright or anything.

I wouldn't mind if 2 years from now, someone starts a MP called Modern Combat.

Huh?

He's derailing the thread, as usual. Just ignore him, unless he says something about his missions.

I'm thinking of creating a role play game, different to LeonCJ's. It may not work, but It's worth a shot.

Different Paths, Road To Justice, Nightmare in San Andreas, LS Most Wanted & Driver: San Andreas.

These are all awesome mission packs that you definitely need to play.

Plus, if you didn't play it yet, try Modern Combat. Part 1 sucks but after Part 2, it only gets better.

There is a major finale coming soon so hurry. http://gtaforums.com/topic/656950-modern-combat-mission-pack/?hl=%2Bmodern+%2Bcombat

I would encourage everyone to read what I wrote, please be patient cause I know it's long. :)

Hey, guys. It really sucks how time consuming college is, but I'm looking forward to the upcoming summer where I'll pretty much be free for DYOM again. :) Anyway, that's not the reason why I'm here now. An idea popped into my mind the other day and I finally found time to ask you guys what you think about it, especially the older members who are still here.

I've looked around this subforum and I noticed one component this subforum is missing and if others agree that it should exist, then... awesome.

There is a ''Mission Index'' topic here which is a topic well done and also the ''DYOM General Thread'' which is an amazing job made by Secronom. While the first topic has a numerous number of missions listed for people to check out and the other has pretty much everything there needs to be known about DYOM in general, I've thought about something that perhaps older members of this community already thought of, but never really tried to do anything about it. I'm talking about the ''HoF'' topic. I'll get to what that means and what would it be about shortly.

Over the years, there have been DYOM contests, weekly contests, theme contests, co-op mission packs by several people, DYOM awards at the end of every year etc. The winners of all that stuff can be found in the ''DYOM General Thread'' topic, yes, but I'm not talking just about that now. Older members will definitely share thoughts about this next segment I want to talk about while I'm here.. and that's the people I like to call ''The unfortunate shadowers'', meaning the people/designers who never won anything on the ''bigger stage'', but damn if they shouldn't have won on at least one occasion. This ''HoF'' topic would be about mostly consisted of ''The unfortunate shadowers'', specifically, them and their most memorable mission packs and of course, the people who won something in the past years. Now let me explain it in detail.

Some of you might've already figured out what the letters ''HoF'' mean. It stands for ''Hall of Fame''. I will explain this in detail for everyone to see the purpose of this in particular, so I'll use an example. I know that almost everybody here knows what the NBA is. The biggest basketball spotlight in the world. I also believe most of you know there is a NBA Hall of Fame which consists of numerous NBA legends throughout the years. In NBA, most of the players who are conducted in the NBA HoF are the ones who won multiple championship rings (the biggest trophy or glory in the NBA). However, the good thing about NBA is that there are players who were amazing players throughout their careers, but never managed to win a championship and were still conducted in the HoF based on their contributions and statistics throughout the careers. That's what I want for the ''DYOM Hall of Fame'' topic to be mostly consisted of.

While there would be the mission packs who won the DYOM contests and awards or whatnot conducted in the HoF, there would also be a pretty decent amount of other mission packs with names of the designers who made them, but never won anything with that particular mission pack, conducted too. When I browsed through this subforum the other day, it really got to me how many amazing mission packs there were throughout these years and they never kinda shined the way they supposed to. For example, ''Hard Boiled'' mission pack trilogy by Jackal1337, arguably never really stood out since it was one of the mission packs of the earliest DYOM years, ''Las Venturas Crew'' by Doublepulse which is one of those forever-lasting, ever-expanding mission packs with an awesome story within every new mission and chapter, ''The Chronicles of John Secronom'' by Secronom President (a.k.a Canadian Scrotum), ''S.A.P.D. Chronicles'' by Chimpso, ''GTA: Gangsta's paradise'' by Rewas, ''Long Theft Auto'' by THBP, ''EFLV'' by LnD, ''Tony Cole Chronicles'' by Notna.. I could go on and on.

The topic would consist of the year the mission pack was conducted into the ''DYOM HoF'', its title and the name of the author who made it. Let's say at the beginning of summer of 2014, we could form a jury of a couple of older/most respected designers (maybe even Dutchy or Patrick) and then every member of the DYOM community who'd like to vote/submit would submit some of the mission packs he thinks are eligible for ''DYOM HoF'' to the jury and if ALL of the members in the jury would vote on it entering the DYOM HoF, it would be conducted, but the jury members would have to justify why they voted YES or NO for the certain mission pack and until they all say YES to a certain mission pack, it can't be conducted in the HoF. The jury members would then be switched every summer, not all of them, but you know, a lot can change in a year, so some people that were part of a jury once may not be here the next one for some reason etc.

I guess we are definitely gonna be able to conduct at least 10-15 mission packs in the ''DYOM HoF class of 2014'' and after this year forward, every new summer the jury would again accept submissions of mission packs, vote on which are eligible to be conducted and then form a class of 2015, class of 2016 etc. Of course, there wouldn't be 10-15 mission packs conducted in the HoF every year. One year there would be 2 (which would have to be the minimum to form a HoF class), one there would be 5, all depending on the voting and acceptance. Also, people could submit to the jury mission packs that were made in earlier years, not just the ones that were made in the future-present years (I have no idea how to explain it differently). For example, the mission pack made in 2014 may not be eligible for HoF this summer cause not all of the jury members would accept it, but in the upcoming years, it may just satisfy all the jury members' demands.

This is just a skeleton of what I had in mind. :D I tried to keep it as short as I could. I'd like to hear your guys' thoughts.

Cheers. :)

I'm very happy to see that a lot of people already embraced the idea, I really appreciate the support from the newer members aswell. I can already see some older designers who liked my previous post, I guess I can count on you guys for weeks to come, that's great :)

We'll still wait for more people to express their opinion about this, but in the meantime, one of our fellow Dyomers already asked me for more info about this project, so I'll copy it here aswell for all people to see and get more informed.

it's only a skeleton for the thing I want to start. You don't have to submit anything to anyone yet.

What needs to be done first is to check with the other guys of my DYOM older generation (starting from Dutchy, Patrick and then Doublepulse, Secronom President, SatournFan etc.) about the formation of the jury. After the jury formation, certain rules needs to be applied, not every mission pack is gonna be able to be submitted, some necessary criteria will need to be satisfied. (I have some already established, but will have to work on that in weeks to come).

So, the jury will need to consist of at least 3, maybe 4 older designers/Dyomers who will want to perform the jury duty. Then, a topic for submissions and nominations will have to be opened somewhere around the end of May, beginning of June perhaps. After about 2 weeks of time for submissions of eligible mission packs for the DYOM HoF, the jury will need to use about 3-4 weeks to check if all the mission packs satisfy the criteria to be eligible for the DYOM HoF and to play them, form an opinion and vote on which mission packs will enter the DYOM HoF class and which won't. I already explained that all members of the jury will need to say YES in order for a mission pack to be conducted in the HoF. So, apart from finding 3-4 older designers, they will have to be the ones who will have time to test and play all those mission packs fully to make a proper decision, so that means they have to be devoted to the job, not just be in the jury and doing nothing and above everything, objective when it comes to judging a mission pack.

After all that is done and the decisions are made, then we'll have to open up an official topic for DYOM Hall of Fame and pin it for years to come.

There is a lot of time to do it, nobody's forcing anything and the submissions doesn't have to start at the beginning of the summer, they can start somewhere in the middle and the final results and conductions can be out at the end of the summer which is a long way from where we're right now. That's a couple of months of time to get this all together we're talking about, that's more than enough, the only problem is to find people who will be able to perform the jury duty.

No need to rush, but I will point out one of the criteria which is definitely gonna be as one of the top criterias to satisfy: the only mission packs that are gonna be able to be submitted to the jury are the ones that have a minimum of 10 missions already made. The criteria won't be that the mission pack STRICTLY needs to be finished, that's the best way to satisfy this criteria, but if not like that, then it will have to have at least 10 missions made (this rule won't apply to the mission packs which are finished, but consist of less than 10 missions. They are still eligible because they are completed.)

In past weeks when I would come here, I often saw a bunch of comments about how dead DYOM is and I'm not sure, but there is actually a topic in which someone asked when the DYOM will die. So, this.. project is somewhat an added incentive and shoutout to the complete DYOM community. An added incentive for everyone to finish their mission packs, not to ditch them half way through, for everyone who wants their time to shine, for everyone who can't find an inspiration to make missions, this is for you all. I can't promise anything to anyone since this is just an open conversation about the possibility of DYOM HoF, but if it works, I can guarantee that it will bring DYOM to another level.

Anyone who wants to share an opinion about this, give suggestions or anything similar, please do.

Cheers, gentlemen.
