Ferddy987
It's as real as you want to get. But it's smaller version of NYC. Sadly. :\ Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/466855-closest-city-to-real-life-counterpart/#findComment-1060281860 Share on other sites
TheTomster
The car wash in Algonquin near the West River is in the same exact spot as in real life. Exactly the same. The only difference is, is that where the car park is on the other side of the highway, is where the U.S.S. Intrepid is stationed. TheBlackProject
Too few cars and people. Yes I know, imagine how awesome the game would be with traffic jams and people fighting each other over parking spaces, and actually people stopping for car accidents, and constant highway jams (would be great for a police chase if you're on a bike). SO ANYWAY, here are some pics. And people should post more pics instead of text. Does anyone recognize this? I mean, all the cars parked sideways under the bridge just exactly like in GTA IV. PS: It's in the most ghetto part of Manhattan, and also Algonquin. toni cinpriani
francis international airport la guardia airport I think FIA is based of LGA. Hmmm nice bike
Perhaps the layout of FIA is similar to LaGuardia. But the terminal (and location of FIA) is most definitely based on Terminal 5 at JFK International Airport Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/466855-closest-city-to-real-life-counterpart/#findComment-1060284301 Share on other sites
cidamelo
Untame Snail yes maybe that's why I don't feel like I'm in New York City when I'm playing GTA IV, I feel like I was in a different city, Liberty City Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/466855-closest-city-to-real-life-counterpart/#findComment-1060284868 Share on other sites
AlexGTAGamer
As has been stated above Liberty City needs alot more pedestrians and traffic so it gives the game a more New York City feel, other than that R* did a great job recreating areas, landmarks and buildings to mimic their real life NYC counterparts. Hmmm nice bike
And the location of it is probably JFK's as well, JFK is the #1 on the map. Both FIA and JFK basically on the far end of the borough.
