Janssoni
Hi. I finally get my 9800gt. I install it and it works fine, then i go play an IV and what did i see? A HUGE lagging! I get 7fps at the main menu! And in game its same 7fps. What the f*ck? IV worked fine with my old crappy HD 2600. Like around 20fps. I have a good pc. IV should go around 50fps. for example, COD MW have easily over 100fps by now... Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/466706-really-low-fps/ Share on other sites
DennisBerry
I think you use an old driver or the graphics driver from windows itselfs. if so it can cause a huge low FPS, because the driver is not optimised for the newest games. Try to update your Graphics driver on http://www.nvidia.com . Install the lastast driver and try, it will increase you FPS for sure. Do not expect the FPS will go over 40 FPS, because i Have a xfx 9800gtx+ Graphics card and i get on medium high setting only 35 FPS. This is very playable. IV is still very demanding, and a 9800gt will get you around 30-40 fps with med-high settings. Don't expect to run it above 30fps at 1080p. And also, uninstall and reinstall the newest drivers. Or install them over the existing ones. There could have been an error during installation. Also, patch IV to 1.0.4.0, or 1.0.0.4. Unless you want online, I'd stay away from 1.0.7.0, because of a lot of bugs and performance issues. I have no clue what else to tell you... did you reinstall the game before you patched it to 1.0.4.0? You can't just downgrade it. I'm sure you probably knew that though. I use a PS3 controller as well (just got a PS3 3 days ago), and I hadn't experienced that. The only problem I had with it was getting it to actually work. Anyway, cool you got it fixed man.
