Do you think GTA should get banned? i mean, look at the troubles it has caused; They stole some rappers image & they haven't gave him any credit for it, influenced some teens to kill random folks etc.. i myself thinks the world would be better without R*. think about it.

Lol of course not. They stole sh*t from him. Only because CJ was riding on a bike in his hood? Please, everyone can do that.

I never heard kids killing because of GTA. BTW why are you on gtaforums when you want to GTA no longer exist?

Killzone is another victim to Jack Thompson's vile propaganda sign-thompson.gif. Something that social workers, soccer moms and Hilarly Clinton fall for.

The rapper incident is complete bullsh*t. This guy was a backup singer for Cypress Hill. A Backup Singer. In other words, a nobody. Why the f*ck would Rockstar want to interview him? There are hundreds of more talanted singers with far better stories to tell. He's not even black! Why would they "steal" his image when if you put photos of this moron and CJ together they don't even look the same?

As for "children killing because of GTA". That is bullsh*t. American studies have shown that video playing does not affect the murderous tendencies of children. And almost every case that Jack Thompson has made he has lost. He ain't even a lawer anymore. He was disbarred in 2008 for lying under oath and brining false testimony (surprise surprise).

If you don't like GTA, I see no reason why you are hanging out on a GTA forum. For gods sake, use some logic!

Simple answer? No.

Longer one? Well, if you're gonna ban games with controversial content, will the same be done with films, or music, or books? If GTA was a film no one would question its right to existence, but for some reason there's a certain prejudice against games, probably because of their association with children. The responsibility of what games, films or music children are exposed to lies with their parents, not the people who create them. Games need to be properly certified like films, and parents need to take that certification seriously.

GTA game series aren't for underage people so if some kiddies are playing this game and considering will be cool to obtain a weapon and shoot on other people in real life it's their problem and their brain failure... (mostly -12 kids from America dozingoff.gif )

Yeah I'm not 18 yet but I play this game to do this things only in game not in real life.

So for idea to get GTA banned = Biggest negative reply on this forum.

Anyway, in every videogame that has guns you can kill people. By that logic, CoD, Halo, and every other shooting game should be banned. Even Left 4 Dead since you can teamkill. dozingoff.gif

See what I did there?

You come to GTAForums and open a thread in which you want GTA to be banned. You open a thread like this in the middle of GTA fans. Man, have you lost your mind or are you just being stupid? It's like you knocked on Obama's door while wearing a shirt that says ''I hate black people''.

If that is what you think about GTA, leave and avoid GTA places. Did you actually think that somebody will listen to you?

I hate social workers, soccer moms and Hillary Clinton. But most of all... JACK THOMPSON! If we're happy the way we are with GTA -games, Jack shouldn't complain about it. What can he do for it anyway. R* controls world, and people like Jack will be crushed eventually by R*. >: ) biggrin.gif No-one will ever stop R* and us, players of GTA-games.

We will never be stopped. >: D

If some kid can't tell the difference between reality and a video game, then the kid should not be playing the video game. It's not R*'s fault, as already mentioned, if someone is stupid enough to play GTA and think it's a good idea to go commit murder. I'd be looking at the parents instead since it is their job to ensure their kids are taught the right morals (i.e. don't kill someone because of a game) or better yet, if they want to be those strict parents, they shouldn't be letting their kid plan an 18-rated game.

The only thing R* is guilty of is making a damn fine game.

Exactly. If something should be banned, it's pop idols from music and television aiming deliberately at kids and acting in character like hookers.

But to everyone who has replied angrily to this guys thread, you've responded in exactly the way he likely desired. Therefore he clearly has a point to saying such things on a GTA forum even if it's a dumb one tounge.gif

To be clear, the thread starter is clearly not serious. He/she's taken the most stereotypical oppositions to the GTA series and posted them to cause reaction or display straight-played sarcasm. Getting angry about it is silly... Reporting it might be more productive tounge.gif

I'm thinking this is kind of a joke topic to be honest...my two cents. Either that or Killzone56k is a bit, y'know...simple wink.gif

Of course it shouldn't be banned. I was reading an article in a womans mag recently (I was on the toilet at my girlfriends house and it was just in there...OK?!) that was campaigning for it to be banned because of the fact you can kill prostitutes in it (Haha I know, that ol' Chestnut!) and I was laughing out loud at the utter bias and the innacuracy of it all.

OK, while it is technically possible to do that in-game, I have never played a GTA where there was an actual mission where I was meant to actively go out and kill a prostitute (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...) it is just something that can be done in game. It is also possible to play Wayne Rooney in goal on FIFA 11...it doesn't mean I necessarily would do that given the chance.

Secondly, it is stated on the front in big letters 'NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN' and 'FOR 18 YEAR-OLDS & ABOVE ONLY' or words to that effect. It is simple: If you don't want your children playing the game then don't buy it them! They can't get it themselves. The article went on to say that GTA was corrupting young minds and that they were getting the idea to kill prostitutes and steal cars etc. from this game. I would say that if anyone were to look at an act of severe voilence and have a desire to replicate it then it's because they are sick, twisted nippleheads and NOT because they played a violent video game for a bit...which brings me very nicely to my third point:

Severe Voilence has been widely available for young viewers to watch for years upon years in the form of movies! Take the Godfather for example...or The Shining! Jack Nicholson trying to hack his family to death with a blunt Axe!!! (Sorry if I have spoilt that movie for anyone...maybe should've added spolier tags... confused.gif) but I have never heard of any calls to ban ALL violent movies from our screens. The Saw Franchise for example produced 7 gruesome films within the last 7 years but not a friggin' peep from Jack Thompson and friends! (again, feel free to correct me...but I'm sure you get the point I was making!)

As far as I am concerned, Jack Thompson and anyone who thinks like he does regarding GTA can boil their own head. Unless they consider that to be too violent in which case they can just sod off and shut their mouths. GTA is violent, yes. But it isn't the direct cause of the crimes it is getting blamed for. Any fool with half a brain can see that.

It's not the game that should get banned, but the stupid parents who give their child the game, and leave them while he/she goes and plays games for 6 hours. But there is a mission in IV where you have to kill a horde of security and "staff", often resulting in some very graphic and gruesome deaths of prostitutes.

Immature Toast

As Nova pointed out, it's the parent's responsibility, not Rockstar's. If parents are concerned about violent video games, they shouldn't let there children play them. Simple as pie.
